Northwest Civic Orchestra features several local performers

The Northwest Civic Orchestra will present its fall concert Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Nelson Performing Arts Auditorium in Powell.

The concert, likely to evoke memories of bell bottoms and platform shoes, features music from the ‘70s including tunes from the movies “Shaft”, “Grease”, “Rocky”, “Star Wars” and the “Summer of ‘42” as well as the songs “Feelings”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Beethoven’s “Fifth” and more.

The orchestra features several local musicians including Karen Campos on violin, John Henderson on trombone, Lisa Kunkel on viola, Damien Craw on tenor saxophone and Liam Wisehart on alto saxophone.

Tickets are available at the door — $12 for general admission, $8 seniors, free for children and students — and a reception will follow.
