Outdoor recreation grant available to small communities
“May I use my hands each day to give more than I receive, to help and not harm, to create, rather than destroy. We are all related.” — Unknown
Here is grant information from the Wyoming Outdoor Recreation office: https://musserfund.org/rural-initiative-program/
Eligible applicants include nonprofits and local units of government in communities with 10,000 people or less. Funds are available for planning and implementation. The application deadline is Oct. 3. (Thanks, Brynn.)
There is a nice story about Wyoming’s Backcountry Discovery Route on the Cowboy State Daily website. The route starts in Baggs and ends at the Wyoming-Montana border. This chamber worked through the Bighorn Basin Outdoor Recreation Collaborative to help get this established in our area. The story is about people who traveled 1,900 miles in Wyoming over 12 days on the route. They made stops along the way in Worland, Medicine Lodge and Ten Sleep Brewing Company.
Still collecting can open tabs from pop, food, drinks, etc. They will be recycled to help children through various hospital charities. The tabs are a higher quality aluminum than the cans themselves. They may be dropped in the foyer of the chamber at 407 West C Street, Basin.
Reminder if you are a member and want something in Chamber Chat, please send it by Sunday at 5 p.m. Thank you.
