January 28, 1926
Two games of basketball will be played at the gym on Saturday night—Basin versus Cody High, and the Basin town team vs. the Greybull town team. This doubleheader should bring out a large crowd, and Basin people are urged to give the basketball boys the encouragement they deserve. Admission is 35 cents and 50 cents.
In a letter to manager Irwin of the Co-operative Marketing Association confirming the company’s offer for turkeys for the shipment which is to be received by the association tomorrow and Saturday, the Jerpe Commission Company of Omaha, make the statement that the price to be paid for this shipment of turkeys is the highest they have ever agreed to pay. The reason is that Big Horn Basin turkeys are superior in quality and the manner in which they are handled is so satisfactory that the company is willing to pay the highest possible price.

January 25, 1951
The establishment of a non-profit telephone cooperative to serve rural areas in Big Horn County, northeastern Washakie County and parts of Park County moved a step nearer to reality Monday when committeemen representing the areas the proposed service would cover met in Basin. It would be named Tri-County Telephone company.
A burst water line last Thursday caused the partial flooding of B Street between South Seventh and South Eighth streets and South Eighth between B and C streets. A town repair crew working under George Chapman searched Thursday night and Friday for the break, locating it in the line leading from the main to the H.E. Walrath residence.
Jack Turner of Hyattville returned Tuesday from the Denver stock show with a new herd bull. The bull placed first in the summer yearling class of sale bulls. He paid $5,150 for the bull. (That would be $63,937 today.)

January 29, 1976
Teresa Ann Haffner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Al Haffner of Basin, became the bride of David Hill Olsen, son of Mrs. Lucretia Olsen of Basin and R. J. Olsen of Greybull on the evening of January 16.
A half-blood Simmental cow bred by A.G. Hartman of Basin, Wyoming was among 184 cows recognized January 23 by American Simmental Association at the group’s eighth annual convention.
The construction, remodeling and decoration of the expanded area of the Big Horn County courthouse to be occupied by the county clerk’s offices are completed. Full occupancy will come at a later date.
