If each one who has loved ones in Mountain View cemetery would give but an hour to the work of cleaning up the family lot before Memorial day, the cemetery would present a wholly different appearance on the day we have set aside to remember those loved ones who have gone on before.
Mr. Fred Veile, Worland mortician was a Basin visitor on Tuesday on Tuesday morning, coming up after two bodies which were to be moved from the old Basin cemetery to the one at Worland. It was not learned whose bodies they were.
The work of altering the course of the Nowood river to protect the town of Manderson and the highway east of town has so far progressed that a small head of water has been turned into the new channel.

The long smouldering problem presented by the municipal electric power plant moved rapidly to the foreground this week, following the first meeting of the new town council Friday night. A series of public meetings are being arranged to determine the best solution of the power question. The municipal plant no longer can supply all of the electrical power needed by local commercial and residential consumers and steps must be taken to solve the problem.
Four possibilities of action are available. The sale of the municipal plant to Mountain States Power company for operation by them; second, the addition of new power manufacturing equipment to present facilities and replacement of current distribution system, third, completion of arrangements whereby reclamation bureau power can be provided for the town and be distributed by other authorities than the municipal government and fourth arrangements for provision from the reclamation service through the Mountain States Power company.

A severe electrical storm that struck the Basin area last Wednesday evening caused damage to two houses and to an International Scout as well as causing power outages and knocking the cable television out in both Basin and Greybull. Lightning struck and killed trees in front of the homes of Mrs. Bert Olsen on North seventh street and that of Mrs. L. A. Clawson on South Fifth street. Lightning also struck the backstop at the ball field near the high school. Both Becky Batenhorst and Lynelle Galasso were sitting near it at the time.
