Mr. W.B. Curtis visited The Rustler office on Thursday of last week and told us the story of an accident in which he and Mr. C.C. Ellis had been the victims on the day before. The two had driven over from the Curtis home to the home of Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Mullins. Just as they were nearing the home, their car skidded on the bank of the mill race, made slippery by the moisture of the past few days, went over into the race and turned turtle, with each of the two men underneath. Mr. Curtis found himself pinned down by the driving wheel, which rested upon his chest, while Mr. Ellis was unable to move because the back of the front seat rested upon him. The head of each was beneath the water. Fortunately one of the women at the Mullins home saw the accident and at once called the men who were near. Mr. Mullins, his two sons and his son-in-law were handy and they hurried to assist. Aided by Mrs. Mullins and her daughter, they were able in a very short time to lift the car and release the two men.
