October 23, 1924
Owing to the demand of the farmers for a market for their surplus poultry, and although the poultry car could not be procured, the county agent has arranged to receive chickens, ducks and geese for a firm in Billings.
Basin joined the Lion’s Club movement on Friday evening, when a local organization was initiated at a meeting held at the library with the district organizer and several Lions present from Greybull. It was decided that meetings would be held at noon on Wednesday of each week, beginning next week.

Mr. and Mrs. Clive Stoelk and son, Craig; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Darling, superintendent, and Mrs. J.M. Chappell and J.C. Quigg of Greybull spent the week-end hunting in the Big Horn mountains above Ten Sleep. They returned with game.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Wardell took their small daughter, Jeaneatte, to see the doctor at Lovell. She has had chickenpox and, like all harmless childhood sickness, they were quite serious on Jeanette.
The following boys and girls had perfect attendance for the first six weeks of school: Johnnie Bishop, Norma Cropsey, Marcia Cummings, Richard Darr, Delwin Doctor, Russell Dooley, Fern Farley, Connie Hartman, Ronnie Hinman, Tom Hutchinson, Clemmie Johnson, Fred Johnson, Jack Marcus, Vicki McNeal, Jimmie Morris, Kathryn Pauley, Lawrence Riedeman, Jimmie Spencer and Kathryn Walter.

Basin Postmaster Arthur J. Batenhorst is serving temporarily as acting postmaster at Cody. When a postmaster is selected by postal authorities, Batenhorst will return to his duties in Basin. In the meantime, Ned F. Kost, Jr., will be the clerk in charge.
There is nothing like having your elk deliver himself to you, practically without a struggle, on the first day of hunting season. That was the good fortune of Alan Paxton last Tuesday morning as he, Donald G. Massey and Ray Williams walked from their camp to an open park where Paxton customarily hunts. As they strolled along in the early sunlight, a five-point bull either ran into or failed to jump a fence, and was neatly flipped on his back. As he struggled to his feet, the five-pointed antler remaining on one side of his head identified him and Paxton shot.

The Riverside High School volleyball team members include Connie Vigil, Abby Spann, Valli Gamble, Kelly Wittow, Carrie Frisbee, Kayla Vigil, Katrina Jares, Skye Ellis, Jessica Holloway and Kelli Skarda.
And Riverside High’s golfer is Zach Paxton.
