March 5, 1925

The Rustler is glad to report that pickle salting stations are practically assured for Basin and Lovell. Mr. H.H. Cowan, who is here representing the Heinz company, came over yesterday from Lovell and assured us that he will be here to see that everything is in readiness for the handling of cucumbers when the crop begins coming in.

Basin radio fans yesterday listened in on the inaugural address of President Coolidge, who took the oath of office shortly after noon Washington time. The address came through very clearly at times.

Mr. J.E. Wheeler has traded his ranch in Greybull for the old Johnson ranch, which adjoins the town of Basin on the northeast.

March 2, 1950

The South Big Horn Soil Conservation district will elect its supervisors on March 10. All landowners or occupiers under the district are eligible to cast ballots. Franklin Johnson and Herb Bishop have been nominated, it was stated. Write-in candidates will be accepted, however.

4-H clubs were organized in Burlington last Monday evening. Mrs. Loren Johnson will lead the second year cooking class. Mrs. Reuben Aagard will lead the Star Sewing Club and Mrs. Mike Riley will lead the first year sewing club.

Miss Margaret McIntosh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McIntosh of Burlington, and Wallace Moon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace B. Moon, also of Burlington, were among the members of the University of Wyoming band performing last week.

Five members of the boxing team sponsored by Marion Tanner Post No. 29 of the American Legion saw action in amateur exhibition bouts in Lovell Tuesday night. They were Harvey Blank, Jim Southerlund, Lale Thomas, Jim Wilkerson and Larry Hodson.

March 6, 1975

Big Horn County electors, and among them some high school seniors, will go to the polls next Tuesday to cast their votes for trustees of the four reorganized school districts in the county. Candidates include: Claude C. Craft, John Gibler, C.H. Lee Carr, Grace Cross, Eugene A. Doerr, Robert A. Gish, Glenn M. Hopkin, Leroy V. Kingery, James F. Kost, Arthur R. Nelson, Helen Saban, Katheryn Shibata, Riki Shimogake, Robert Redland, Jimmy Rubis, Joe Wildman, David L. Greer and Helen Turner.

Members of the Manderson-Hyattville Demon basketball team include: Junior Coronado, John Jares, Jeff Tharp, Brent Godfrey, Mike Jares, David Coronado, Bryan Neely, Steve Hyatt, Rod Patrick, Tim Sinn, Ross Diercks and Dave Tharp.

The RHS boys basketball team includes Eric Godfrey, Jeremy Wyatt, Chad Schell, Drew King, Dale Query, Rowan Hartman, Jake Craft, Reid Stidolph, Nick Sweeney, Fernando Gonzalez, Travis Harrison, Zack Paxton and Dusty Lewis.

The girls basketball team includes Carrie Frisbee, Amanda Sherburne, Hannah Irvine, Abby Spann, Megan Dellos, Katie Bock, Connie Vigil, Marisa Ruhter, Julie Stidolph, Katrina Jares and Kelly Wittow.

Burlington eighth grader Mariah Flores won a best performer award at the Showalter Memorial Music Festival. Flores was awarded a scholarship to the 2000 Yellowstone Summer Music Camp.
