The ill-fated town of Manderson, which two years ago suffered a fire loss which wiped out a block of business houses which have never been rebuilt, was again a victim of the incendiarist on Friday morning of last weekend when fire wiped out all of the buildings on the west side of main street with the sole exception of the hotel. Immediately after fire charges were filed against J.L. Altman that he had started the fire which was found in his building.
Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Pickett, who were down from Manderson yesterday, brought word that the Foe-Saunders Company would proceed at once to rebuild its store building. Mr. Pickett had but $2,000 insurance on the pool hall, while Mr. Henry Jordan had no insurance on the post office building.

The Wyoming Gas Company this week is nearing completion of a remodeling program being carried out on its office building in Basin. The partition which formerly enclosed the outer office has been lowered to counter-height to afford greater convenience to customers and to permit a full view of the lobby from the receptionist’s desk. In addition, the former dark woodwork has received a coat of lighter color to present a more cheerful aspect.
James Michaelis, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Michaelis, escaped serious injury about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday when the automobile which he was driving went out of control on the Unterzuber hill one mile south of Greybull. He was in route to Basin when the accident occurred.

The Honorable Chester Flyr, Mayor of the Town of Basin, received a check in the amount of $11,379.50 from Mrs. Robert Frisby, member of the Wyoming Recreation Commission. The check was drawn on the Federal Land and Water Conservation fund and is in partial payment for work on the recreation park. This is the first payment received by the Town for a project that totals $168,470.00.
Alan Paxton, local manager of E.H. Walrath and Sons, Inc., told members of the Basin Rotary Club last Thursday of the introduction of a new malt barley variety in the area this year and an increase in acreage planted to the grain.

Burlington students received a valuable experience and an unexpected recess when the school was evacuated last Thursday. Workman moving the electrical outlets that the school’s busses are plugged into during cold weather cut through a gas line, according to Principal Matt Davidson, and he ordered the school evacuated.
The Burlington Huskies Basketball team includes Harry McNiven, Clay Ellison, Victor Garza, David Loveland, Whitney Neves, Patrick Davidson, Dalin Winters, Shane Loveland, Ryan Cauffman, Brad Christopherson, Schane Wiles and Josh Alexander.
Members of the Lady Huskies Basketball team include Macy Winters, Sierra Garza, Erin Cook, Taubi Neves, Stephanie Preator, Teri Michaels, Megan Garza, Jessica Mitchell, Rebecca Cook, Tiffany Wardell, Melissa Cook and Maria McNiven.
