They’ve had some hard rains in this section during the past week. Mr. Roy Mason was down from his home on the Nowood on Thursday night of last week and reported that it had rained so hard the night before that the gulch at Bonanza, which is 20 feet wide and about the same in depth, had been unable to carry the water, which ran two feet over the top of the bridge. Then there was that rain of Sunday last. That was a very hard rain for a while, and the water came down Dead Man’s Gulch so fast that the bridge a few miles out of Basin was carried out. County Commissioner T.W. Spratt found out the bridge was out and stood his car out there with headlights burning and warning the people back.
