Pearle Dorlene Bauer
June 28, 1930 – January 21, 2025
Pearle, Dorlene Bauer, 94, passed away peacefully at the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin on Jan. 21, 2025, with family by her side.
Pearle was born on June 28, 1930, in Golden, Colo. She was the middle daughter of Charlie O. and Anna E. (Potenski) Akes, greeted at home by her sister, Alice, and later welcomed Pauline to the family. She received her education in Golden, graduating from high school in 1948. She married Franklin Lee Bauer on June 26, 1949. The couple started in Golden, Colo., but soon moved to Nebraska where they raised their five boys, Glen, Gary, Greg, Garth and Lyle “Bruce.” She taught the boys with a warm heart and an iron fist as they worked the land together, farming. After the boys had grown and left home, they returned to Colorado, living in Commerce City until the late 1990s when they moved to Greybull to be closer to their youngest son. After Franklin passed in 2010, she continued living in Greybull until moving to the Wyoming Retirement Center in March of 2023.
Pearle was known to be a real giver. She continually did things for others and loved making gifts for friends and family. She and Franklin crafted many beautiful things together. One could often find her painting on pieces of wood, sewing a garment or making alterations for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Alice and Pauline, and grandsons Scott and Lee Bauer.
Survivors include her sons: Glen Bauer (Donna Osen) of Cody, Wyo., Gary (Simone) Bauer of Powell, Wyo., Greg Bauer of Bloomfield, Neb., Garth (Pat) Bauer of Greybull, Wyo., and Lyle “Bruce” (Pat) Bauer of Basin, Wyo.; grandchildren: Kerry Ludwick of Papillion, Neb., Dave Bauer of Pikeville, N.C., Jamie (Jason) Doerr of Bloomfield, Neb., Bo (Kelsey) Bauer of Fordyce, Neb., Sunny Bauer of Orange Park, Fla., Miranda (Crispin) Espinoza of Miles City, Mont., and great-grandchildren: Savannah of Omaha, Neb., Avery of Lawrence, Kan., Evan Ludwick of Papillion Neb., Julia (Brandon) Morphew, Jared Bauer, Patience Teboe, Eleanor Bauer.
