Pop up test in chamber chat
“This morning, the sun endured past dawn. I realized that it is August: the summer’s last stand.” — Sara Baume
How much fun is it to start your day with a test? Typically, not great but all through school we knew it would happen. Since the school year has started for many, I thought it would be fun (tongue in cheek) to have our own test in Chamber Chat. Although, really, my mind is not coming up with anything else for today’s chat.
How many people does Chamber Chat go out to on Monday via email? Answer: More than 500 across Wyoming, but mainly people/businesses in Big Horn County and the Big Horn Basin.
How many other people are reached when Chat is posted on the chamber’s Facebook page? Answer: “Billions & Billions” to sort of quote astronomer Carl Sagan. Two facts with this quote: One, the Facebook post doesn’t really reach billions. Two, Carl Sagan never actually said it. It is a catchphrase popularized by Johnny Carson when he did a parody of Sagan on The Tonight Show.
Are you old enough to know who Sagan and Carson are? Answer: Varies on person answering the question.
Do you know what “tongue in cheek” means? Answer: Again, will vary on who is answering but here is a clue. “Comes from the physical habit of pushing the tongue inside the cheek to show a joke or silence a laugh.”
Do you know how to get your news in Chamber Chat? Answer: Be a member and email your info to us by Sunday at 5 p.m. to be included in Chat the following Monday.
Have a terrific day.
