Power outage planned in Basin June 7
Power outage planned in Basin June 7
The Basin Town Council met on May 26. One of the items discussed was a planned outage for Tuesday, June 7. It will run from 6:30 -7:30 a.m. so that metering at the north substation can be switched out.
Work has started on the former Eagles annex at the corners of C and Fourth Street. Mayor CJ Duncan said some of the existing concrete foundation wall/footer needed to be removed and new footers, etc., put in. Councilman Carl Olson discussed the plans for the water line and suggested a possible change.
An update on the E Street paving project was given by Jesse Frisbee from Eagle Engineering and Surveying. He said the project should proceed on June 6. Frisbee also gave the sewer project update. The clean-up/repairs started that day and should be done by June 22.
Duncan said the Antelope Creek Drain has been overflowing from the culvert on the west side of the highway on Big Horn Avenue. He spoke with someone on the drainage board and was told that the town screwed it up when the new town line was put in. Duncan said he had spoken to Mike Dellos about the situation. He then asked the council for permission to use the town’s camera in the line to make sure no damage was done by the town. The council agreed the camera could be used.
The council reviewed the 2022-2023 budget. Final reading of Ordinance 700 will be June 9.
