Rebel track teams place third in Greybull

Riverside’s girls and boys did a great job this past weekend as both took third place at the Bill Gerrard Memorial in Greybull. 

The girls earned 70 points, and the boys earned 62.5 points. 

Kennedy Bassett placed first in both hurdle events. Although she didn’t automatically qualify in her events, she did get a personal record in the 200 meters while placing second with a time of 28.07 second.

Varissa Olsen also did very well, placing first in girls discus with a throw of 102-3. She set a new personal record with this throw. Olsen placed second in shot put with a throw of 31-3.5, which is also a new personal record. She automatically qualified for state in discus.

Ada Pratt showed improvements in the shot put with a throw of 30-8. Danika Brauer made  improvements in the long jump, with a jump of 12-6.

The boys 400-meter relay placed first with a time of 47.92 and automatically qualified for state in their event. That relay consists of Wyatt Daly-Patterson, Paul Stone, Ryder Kozisek and Reece Whisenant.

Paul Stone placed second in the triple jump with a jump of 37-10.5. Daly-Patterson placed fourth in long jump with a distance of 17-10. Eli Jensen placed fourth in discus with a throw of 98-8. In high jump, Kozisek, Daly-Patterson, and McClure took second, third and sixth, respectively. Stats will be below.

The Rebels will compete at the La Kohnke Invite in Powell Saturday, April 12.
