The Riverside Rebels fell to Encampment on Friday, Sept. 6, 13-46.

Coach Jason Mitchell said the Rebels “ran into a really good team and struggled on both sides of the ball. Our early struggles are what they are, but if we take the opportunity to learn from them, then I feel good about where we can be by mid-October.”

Though he is aware of the challenges that transitioning to 6-man brings, and that they will have some bumps in the road as they work to learn the ins and outs of the game on the fly, Mitchell believes his team can adapt.

“The move to 6-man undoubtedly shook things up, [however] I’ve been very proud of how the kids have bought in and chosen to move forward with a positive approach.”

The Rebels also named their captains last week: Avery Clifford & Curtis Strohschein. This Friday, Sept. 13, they will face Hulett.
