The Riverside Lady Rebels gained a win against the Meeteetse Lady Longhorns in Basin on Thursday, with a final score of 70-9. Against the Dubois Lady Rams Friday, the Rebels obtained their 2nd conference win of the weekend, in Dubois, with a final score of 40-21.

These conference wins were important as they play a big role in the seeding going into regionals at the end of February. The Lady Rebels overall record is 8-5, with a conference record of 3-0.

“We came into the games this week with one goal of getting 2 important conference wins heading into our matchup against No 1 Burlington this Friday night at home. We came out in our game against Meeteetse with Johnna Clifford back in the lineup; we wanted to play strong defense and push the ball anytime we could. Also, we got an opportunity for everyone to get to play, which is always a positive,” said Coach Hamilton.

“Against Dubois we came out and went up 14-0 after the first period and then played good defense the rest of the way for the victory. That’s always a tough game to play after a 3 ½ hour bus trip, being the longest trip we make in the conference.”

The JV team will play against Burlington JV at 4 this Friday, and the varsity will play at 5:30. The Rebels will travel to St. Stephens Saturday and play at 1:30.
