Riverside Lady Rebels defeat Dubois Lady Rams

The Riverside Lady Rebels traveled to Dubois Friday, Feb. 14.  The final score was 51-27 — a smaller gap than they beat them by the last time they played, but a conference win nonetheless. 

Brooklynn Paxton was the high scorer in that game with 17 points, and Ada Pratt followed with 16.  Vinaya VanderPloeg had 10 rebounds and eight steals, while Paxton had 15 rebounds. 

“Ada had a huge impact offensively once Dubois made the decision to help less off our guards,” commented Coach Jason Mitchell. “We struggled to get going offensively in the first half.  Once we spaced the floor better and became more willing to simply find our open teammates, we found an offensive groove in the second half.”

 “I think we are starting to get a bit more buy-in on the defensive end. Our on-ball defense has steadily improved and our willingness to scramble after help situations shows a commitment to limiting quality looks for our opponents. We had 26 turnovers, almost double what we’d like to have.”

The Lady Rebels will host Burlington Friday, Feb. 21.  It’s Senior Night for the Lady Rebels
