Riverside netters win last conference game of season

The Riverside Lady Rebels played their last conference match of the season in Meeteetse on Thursday, Oct. 23. The Rebels overall record for the 2025 season is 16-12, with their conference record at 4-4.

The Lady Rebels went to four sets with Meeteetse, losing the second set. The scores were 26-24, 20-25, 25-8, and 25-14.

“The team is showing growth and improvement in many aspects of the game,” said Coach Cindi Smith. “Our serving efficiency continues to rise, which is important as we move forward to tournament time. We were pleased to see our block in action last weekend; it added a lot to our defensive force.

“The girls are excited to enter tournament week. They came into practice focused and ready to work hard to fine tune our skill set in preparation for the weekend. We are continuing to focus on serve receive and ways to bring an offensive force to the court. Defensively, we are utilizing our time to work on reads and staying aggressive on every ball.

The senior captains will bring experience and leadership to the court this weekend. They have worked hard to last four years and want all the time and hard work to pay off for the team. It’s going to be a competitive regional tournament, so we need to step out and play every point to our fullest potential.”

The Rebels will face Cokeville at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31 at the Class 1A West Regional in Lander.
