Riverside Trap ends regular reason
Riverside High School’s trap team wrapped up the regular season earning fourth place in its conference with a final total of 629.50 points.
“This year seemed busier than usual,” said Coach Calvin Brown. “To get all the kids their scoring rounds each week, we were usually out at the range twice per week. For the most part, all kids got their scoring rounds in and we saw some great growth over the season.”
At the end of Week 5, Cal Reuter tied for 12th place in the conference with 18.70, Bridger McGinnis ended in 17th place with 17.20, Lane Owen tied for 18th place with 17.10 and Nicholas Olmstead placed 21st with 15.60.
“We had just 10 kids on the team for our spring season and we are taking 10 kids down to the state tournament in Torrington at the end of June, so we are excited about that,” Brown said. “It’s a great opportunity for the kids to shoot in a higher pressure environment and alongside a lot of other shooters their age. We also want to give a big shout out to the Basin Gun Club; the guys there make it possible for these kids to come out and shoot each week. Most weeks they are there multiple times and all they get for their time and effort is a thank you. So I want to make sure they know they are appreciated.”
