Soldier’s Christmas boxes will be mailed on Friday
Today’s quote is in honor of our Veterans: “All gave some, some gave all. Some stood through for the red, white and blue. And some had to fall. And if you ever think of me think of all your liberties and recall… some gave all.” — Billy Ray Cyrus
Christmas boxes for three deployed servicemen will be mailed this Friday. They each have ties to this county.
Thanks, Paintrock Processing for donating meat sticks for the boxes. Thank you to Queen Bee Gardens for the donation of honey sticks. Thank you to the Lovell Chamber for your monetary donation. Thanks to TCT for the pens. Thank you to the anonymous person who donated three cases of Frito Lay snacks. Thank you, Wyoming Buffalo Company, for your donation of pineapple honey beef sticks. Thank you, Susan Wynn, MauRena Scott and Carmen Olson for the personal hygiene items for women and men. Thank you, Crazy Woman Territory, for the cool Wyoming stickers. Thanks also to: Wyoming State Parks for donating stickers and books. Liam & Layne donated their first album release. Thanks to Basin Pharmacy for the calendars. Thank you, as well, to the Friends of the Basin Library, who donated Wyoming Gourmet beef sticks purchased at Basin’s Market.
Additional hygiene items would be appreciated; travel sized liquid items, such as mouthwash, are best due to shipping regulations. Unscented or light scented hygiene items are preferred. Socks are needed; dried fruit, electrolyte packages or dried mixes that can be added to water are also desired options. Letters from families and groups are also welcome.
Please drop off items at the Basin Area Chamber by Thursday. Monetary donations may be made at Riverside High School, Basin’s Market, Valley Hardware and Basin Pharmacy. The money will be used for items and postage.
A Chamber member meeting will be held this Thursday, Nov. 14, at noon. Lunch will be a potato bar. Susan Wynn will provide the potatoes using Dolly Parton’s recipe! The meetings are a good way to network.
Support our veterans with green lightbulbs! There are free lightbulbs available in the foyer of the Chamber. If you drive by the courthouse at night, you’ll notice two green lights at the front doors. They look wonderful.
