Still fighting for justice for Jocelyn and Jade

Nicole Wagon is the face of the missing and murdered indigenous people of Wyoming. Not a role she really wanted but was left no choice with the deaths of her daughters Jocelyn Watt and Jade Wagon. 

Her group MMIR 307 advocates non-stop to educate, create awareness and pursue justice. This paper has published Nicole’s stories of the murder of her daughters and her advocacy. 

Most recently she wrote a letter to the Department of Corrections asking them not to move one of the men convicted in Jocelyn’s and Rudy Perez’s murder in 2019 into a community corrections program  

That program would allow him to work in the community and possibly have furloughs. 

The board met on Sept. 14 to discuss her concerns. As of Tuesday, Sept. 15 she had not heard of their decision. Earlier this year she fought against his parole. She was successful. He was the only adult of the four convicted of the murders. 

No one has been arrested for the death of Jade Wagon who was found dead in 2020. 

Nicole continues to fight for better reporting mechanisms, stronger laws, educating the public, speaking engagements, national attention to the issue, helping families and justice for Jocelyn, Jade, Rudy and others. 

Her goal is to stop the violence, stop sex trafficking, no drugs, and no alcohol. To make our communities safe again.
