Thanks for the summer memories, Camp Bethel
While sorting through Mom’s things I found some photos from Camp Bethel — some as far back as the 1940s when the camp was established.
There were also photos family members and friends who have gone there over the decades. Wonderful memories of summer camp at Bethel came flooding back.
Sending kids off to a camp in the summer isn’t as popular or frequent as it used to be. Gosh, there was even a song about summer camp. “Hello Muddah. Hello Faddah. Here I am at Camp Grenada. Camp is very entertaining. And they say we’ll have some fun if it stops raining. I went hiking with Joe Spivey. He developed poison ivy. You remember Leonard Skinner. He got ptomaine poisoning last night after dinner.”
Camp Bethel is gearing up for the 81st year of summer camp. Holy cow. Six generations of our family have gone to camp there, making many amazing memories along the way.
If you are looking for something for your kids to do this summer maybe they can go to Bethel as well. Camp dates and ages are on their website, campbethelwyo.com. Scholarships are available.
Oh Camp Bethel … thanks for the memories.
