There is no shame in getting help for mental health

For many, the holidays are a joyful time. Others experience an increase in stress, loneliness, grief, and pressure, often called “holiday blues.” If you are experiencing the blues or suicidal/self-harm thoughts, you are not alone. There is absolutely no shame in seeking help.

One of the resources available is the Luke Bell Memorial Affordable Counseling Program. It was established in 2024 by his family. Luke struggled with a mental health crisis that sadly ended his life.

The program is set up to help people who do not have insurance or other assistance and make less than $65,000 a year. It is open to anyone 18 and over who qualifies in the Big Horn Basin.

An approved applicant is connected to an appropriate therapist. The program will pay for ten sessions with vouchers.

Mental health doesn’t define who you are. “The strongest people are not those who show strength in front of us but those who win battles we know nothing about,” said Jonathan Harnisch.
