Town of Basin’s new Senior Room offers cozy, fun environment

When the town of Basin moved to the old Riverside High School Building in June, one room was designated as the Senior Room.
Senior, as in, 65-years-old and up.  Over the last six months, the room has added additional seating, tables, and games. It features a pool table, seated card tables, chess, a bookshelf with books to borrow, and even has its own coffee station.
The room is open to Seniors during the regular office hours of the town at no charge: Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
In the past, it has been suggested Seniors could have their Meals on Wheels delivered there so they might have lunch together. To date, that hasn’t happened, but it remains an option the town hopes citizens will consider moving forward.
The room has also been used to host birthday parties and get-togethers for Seniors. To learn more about the Senior Room, please call the town at 307-568-3331.
