Two Rebels on all-conference team
Riverside Rebels Avery Clifford and Ryder Kozisek have been named to the Class 1A all-Northwest Conference team after leading their team to a fourth-place finish in the league and a 9-16 overall record.
Clifford led the rebels in rebounds with 134 and blocks with 23. For the year, he averaged 8.8 points and 5.6 boards per game.
Kozisek was Riverside’s top 3-point shooter, hitting 46 of 161 (29%). He also paced the Rebels in scoring (341 points, average of 13.6 ppg), assists (30) and steals (50).
Coach Scott Winters said the Rebels will miss them both next year, calling them leaders both on and off the court.
“Avery was our big man inside and was able to get a lot of rebounds and points for us inside,” Winters said. “He also ran the middle position on our zone defense and did a great job getting lots of steals and deflections.
“Ryder was our go to scorer on the offensive end. He was able to hit outside shots as well as get to the basket. He also improved on the defensive end the last three years and was given the task of guarding the other team’s best player a lot Rebel of the time.
‘They showed positive attitudes towards officials and players all year and were definitely deserving of this recognition and have been a joy to coach.”
Joining Kozisek and Clifford on the all-conference team were Rykael Andrew, Weston Gotfredson and Paul McNiven of Burlington; Nate Hinkle and Payson Pluhar of Dubois; Johnathan Ogden and Max Potas of Meeteetse; Perrion Buffalo and Ethan Fighting Bear of St. Stephens and Eli Fox of Ten Sleep.
