Upcoming tourism summit next month in Sheridan

Headed to Sheridan next month for the Fall Hospitality and Tourism Summit. There will be information on the Outdoor Rec & Tourism Trust Fund, legislative and election updates and a presentation from Domenic Bravo, executive director of WOT. If you are interested in attending let us know so we can send you the link. Communities and businesses impacted by tourism would benefit from the summit. 

The chamber member luncheon each month is an important part of what we do. The networking, the ideas, the volunteering to help each other is truly a wonder to see. The meeting is the second Thursday of each month at noon. Please put it on your calendar.

Chamber member news: 

• Wyoming Retirement Center: Seeking candy donations for their Halloween carnival. 

• BHCSD #4: Homecoming week! Thursday at 3 p.m. is the parade. It starts and ends at the football field. Junior chili feed is also Thursday, 5-7 p.m. The burning of the R is 8 p.m. Thursday. The football games are at noon and 2 p.m. Friday and the volleyball tournament is Saturday.

• Three Rivers Health: Community blood drive, Oct 5, 1-5:45 p.m.

• Basin First Baptist: See you at the Pole, Sept. 23, 7 p.m. at the Basin and Greybull high schools. A time of prayer. All are welcome. Fall Festival, Oct 11. Best pie and chili contest. 

• BCAC: Sept. 15 (every third Thursday of the month) Trivia Nights 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

• Town of Basin: Special public meeting regarding proposed electric rate increase, Sept. 24, 6 p.m. at town hall.

• Lovell Area Chamber: Fall Festival Pumpkin Chunkin Contest, Sept. 26.
