Washington Park gazebo reservation process changes
While Washington Park is in Basin, it is county property. The park is behind the county library and adjacent to the courthouse. The county is responsible for maintenance, care, etc.
How to reserve the reserve the gazebo has recently changed. Previously people had to call the county maintenance department to reserve. Now there is a QR code on a sign on the gazebo itself. There is also the option to reserve online at https://www.bighorncountywy.gov/park-gazebo.
The gazebo is free for public use. Reservations are made on a first come, first serve basis. The gazebo is available to rent from 7 a.m. through 11:30 p.m., Monday – Sunday.
Reservations may be made up to one year in advance. County maintenance supervisor Jeremy Pouska said users may incur additional permit fees for food, alcohol or other facility use within the town of Basin ordinances.
Balloons and decorations are allowed, but the use of nails, tacks, spikes or anchoring devices of any kind is prohibited. All decorations and debris must be removed and placed in the trash receptacles provided. Failure to clean up may result in a cleaning fee of $25 per hour being charged to the user.
The Big Horn County Courthouse parking lot may not be used for event parking during normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., excluding government holidays). Vehicles are not allowed to pull up onto the park grounds due to potential damage to the grass and underground sprinkler system.
Additional information is available on the reservations website.
