• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

September 9 — A VIN inspection was done at Hart Ave.

A scam email was reported from a person on Hart Ave.

Resident on South Fifth Street is saying her neighbor has lots of trash, ordinance notice was given.

September 10 — Officer took information from someone at the Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC).

A VIN inspection was done at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

An ordinance violation was given on Willow Drive.

An officer enforced an ordinance violation given on South Ninth Street

September 11 —  A Basin School Zone patrol was done.

An officer enforced an ordinance violation given on South Third Street 

Two VIN inspections were done at BHCSO.

September 12 — A Basin School Zone patrol was done.

Officer initiated a community relation at the the Shooting Range.

An English Setter was found on Rue Avenue..

A VIN inspection was done at BHCSO.

Suspicious circumstances occurred on Hwy. 16/20 South.

September 13 — A Basin School Zone patrol was done.

A resident on Cloud Peak Avenue had a missing black heifer.

Possible animal abuse on South Eighth Street.

Caller on West E Street requested information about a 3 day eviction notice.

Traffic complaint on Hwy. 16/20.

A VIN inspection was done at BHCSO.

A welfare check was done on South Sixth Street.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin Boat Ramp.

Extra patrol was done at the WRC.

Domestic abuse on West E Street, husband hit her in the head.

September 14  — Officer assisted Greybull police department with a funeral escort.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin School.

An ordinance violation was given at the Storage Shed on South Ninth Street.

An ordinance violation was given on South Third Street.

An ordinance violation was given on the hundreth block of West G Street in the North alley.

A business check was done at Basin Town Hall.

Community relations was done by an officer at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

September 15 — An officer assisted the general public on South Sixth Street.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin Boat Ramp.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin School.

Sept. 9 — 7:57 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Greybull.

11:06 a.m.: An accidental 9-1-1 call was received in Basin.

11:40 a.m.: Deputies answered a vehicle registration question.

2:40 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

5:04 p.m.: Deputies assisted the Department of Family Services.

7:14 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Basin.

7:46 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

9:12 p.m.: An injured deer was reported in Shell.

9:55 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Greybull.

Sept. 10 — 7:24 a.m.: Cows were loose on the highway in Burlington.

7:54 a.m.: Deputies participated in community relations in Basin.

9:23 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Burlington.

9:29 a.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Basin.

3:14 p.m.: A firearm was found and reported in Basin.

4:39 p.m.: A propane tank leak was reported in Otto.

5:18 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

8:47 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

9:55 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

10:28 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

11:00 p.m.: Cagney Renee Hetland, of Byron, was arrested in Greybull for driving with a revoked license and without compulsory auto insurance while possessing a powered or crystalline controlled substance and under the influence.

Sept. 11 — 5:44 a.m.: A carcass was reported on the highway in Basin.

8:30 a.m.: A horse was reported loose on the highway in Basin.

9:27 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

10:14 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Burlington.

10:26 a.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Basin.

10:48 a.m.: Possible fraud was reported in Shell.

11:32 a.m.: A traffic stop occurred in Greybull.

11:59 a.m.: A welfare check was conducted in Basin.

3:09 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

8:03 p.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Manderson.

8:21 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A warning was issued.

8:22 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

9:49 p.m.: A fire was reported on the mountains above Hyattville.

Sept. 12 — 8:16 a.m.: Deputies participated in community relations in Basin.

8:54 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Emblem.

9:12 a.m.: Deputies participated in community relations in Basin.

10:28 a.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Burlington.

11:02 a.m.: A lighting strike was reported in Greybull.

11:09 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

11:19 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A warning was issued.

1:09 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

2:50 p.m.: An accident with injuries was reported in Shell.

3:24 p.m: Deputies assisted the general public in Basin.

4:32 p.m.: Suspicious circumstances were reported in Basin.

6:51 p.m.: Sheep were loose on the highway in Greybull.

7:17 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

Sept. 13 — 7:43 a.m.: Cows were reported loose in Otto.

8:59 a.m.: A black heifer was reported missing in Basin.

9:04 a.m.: Sheep were reported loose on the highway in Greybull.

12:52 p.m.: A possibly stolen side-by-side was reported.

1:36 p.m.: An accidental 9-1-1 was received in Burlington.

3:38 p.m.: A pivot sprinkler malfunction was reported in Otto.

4:43 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

7:16 p.m.: An animal issue was reported in Basin.

11:08 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

Sept. 14 — 8:57 p.m.: A neighbor dispute was reported in Manderson.

7:31 p.m.: A welfare check was requested in Shell.

7:33 p.m.: A sheep flock was reportedly crossing the road in Greybull.

11:10 p.m.: Deputies participated in community relations in Greybull.

Sept. 15 — 2:17 a.m.: An accidental 9-1-1 call was received in Shell.

7:11 a.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Greybull.

7:25 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A citation was issued.

8:14 a.m.: A resident reported their intention to drive roughly 100 head of cattle on the road east toward Greybull.

2:00 p.m.: Deputies received a request for paperwork from a member of the public.

6:06 p.m.: Deputies assisted the public.

7:09 p.m: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

8:02 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A warning was issued.

8:25 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency.

9:16 p.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Ten Sleep.

10:35 p.m.: A car and vehicle went head-to-head in Basin. The car was disabled. • Circuit Court
