• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

October 7 — Officer initiated patrol at the Basin School Zone. 

Officer responded to a call for a dog found at the Overland Express Mart.

Police responded to a call at the Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC) for two residents fighting.

A VIN inspection was done at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

October 9 — Two VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

October 10 — A VIN inspection was done on Antelope Street.

Six VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

A civil standby occurred on North Sixth Street.

A resident on Crescent Drive called stating she had no water. Public works was called.

A burglar alarm went off on C Street.

Officer assisted the Basin Utilites at the Basin Police Department on South Third Street. 

October 11 — Officer initiated patrol at the Basin School Zone.

A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

A resident on North Sixth Street was disturbing the peace.

A civil standby occurred on North Sixth Street.

Officer went up to Riverside Middle High School for community activity patrol.

October 12 — A business check was done at Overland Express Mart.

Basin PD assisted the general public on South Third Street

Extra patrol was done at the Basin School.

October 13 — A business check was done at Overland Express Mart.

Officer assisted a motorist on Rue Avenue.

Information was given to a resident from the BHCSO.

Officer assisted in a battery call at the WRC.

Injured deer on US Highway 16/20.

Oct. 7 — 8:55 a.m.: Information concerning the impact of road closures on hunting was requested by a member of the public.

9:17 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A citation was issued.

12:55 p.m.: Information regarding road closures was released.

1:16 p.m.: A cell phone was found in Basin.

2:08 p.m.: A traffic complaint was received in Basin.

4:05 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

5:26 p.m.: Starving horses were reported to the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Offices in Basin.

5:24 p.m.: A traffic complaint concerning a semi-truck was received in Greybull.

Oct. 8 — 1:47 a.m.: Hitchhikers were reported in Burlington.

8:27 a.m.: An injured deer was reportedly in a caller’s driveway in Hyattville.

8:45 a.m.: Horses were loose on the road in Otto.

10:25 a.m.: Information concerning road closures was requested by a member of the public.

10:55 a.m.: A dog was found in Basin.

12:48 p.m.: A dog was on the highway in Basin.

1:06 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

2:31 p.m.: There was a road closure due to blockage in Greybull.

3:25 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

6:07 p.m.: A dog was reportedly at-large in Greybull.

9:13 p.m.: A citizen complaint was received in Basin.

Oct. 9 — 5:39 a.m.: An abandoned 9-1-1 call was received in Basin.

7:35 a.m.: Deputies were notified of alarm testing in Basin at the retirement home.

7:50 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Hyattville.

8:26 a.m.: A live powerline was reportedly down in Shell.

1:05 p.m.: Deputies were notified of utility crews working in the Shell-area.

1:48 p.m.: Deputies assisted the general public.

2:59 p.m.: Suspicious circumstances were reported in Greybull.

3:48 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

4:29 p.m.: A traffic hazard was reported in Emblem.

5:09 p.m.: A fender bender was reported in Greybull.

Oct. 10 — 10:32 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Burlington. A warning was issued.

11:58 a.m.: Suspicious circumstances were reported in Basin.

3:03 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

4:42 p.m.: A fire was reported in Greybull.

4:54 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Greybull.

7:11 p.m.: A house in Basin was reportedly without water.

7:40 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

8:08 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

8:21 p.m.: Deputies performed a business check in Greybull. 

Oct. 11 — 8:50 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A citation was issued.

9:02 a.m.: Larceny was reported in Greybull.

10:39 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A citation was issued.

12:52 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A citation was issued.

1:07 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A citation was issued.

1:28 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

1:58 p.m.: A lost dog was reported in Hyattville.

1:58 p.m.: A member of the public requested to speak with deputies regarding an ongoing custody case.

3:11 p.m.: Deputies responded to a civil matter.

3:28 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A warning was issued.

3:39 p.m.: A caller asked deputies questions about kids riding motorbikes on the street.

4:51 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A warning was issued.

4:55 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

5:32 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A warning was issued.

8:08 p.m.: A possible wildland fire was reported in Manderson. No evidence was found and the matter was considered resolved.

6:48 pm.: Deputies participated in community relations in Basin.

7:55 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

8:49 p.m.: Deputies initiated field contact in Basin.

10:36 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A citation was issued.

11:04 p.m.: Deputies performed an additional patrol in Greybull.

Oct. 12 — 12:40 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

8:42 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

11:50 a.m.: Deputies conducted a welfare check in Greybull.

11:56 a.m.: A possible gas leak was reported in Basin.

12:14 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

12:36 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Otto.

12:56 p.m.: A water leak was reported in Basin.

3:52 p.m.: A multi-vehicle accident was reported in Emblem.

11:16 a.m.: Property damage was reported in Emblem.

12:12 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Basin.

1:54 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

2:04 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

2:10 p.m.: Deputies received a citizen complaint in Basin.
