• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

October 15 — An officer assisted the general public at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO). 

Officer patroled the Basin school zone.

October 16 — A backpack was found and turned into the BHCSO.

Extra patrol was done at the school.

October 17 — Suspicious circumstances reported on North Sixth Street.

Officer assisted another agency at Three Rivers Health.

Extra patrol was done at the school.

October 18 — Accident occurred at Seventh Street and West A Street.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

October 19 — A business check was done at Basin Market.

A welfare check was done on South Fifth Street.

A business check was done at the Family Dollar.

Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC) reported an injured deer.

A building check was done at the school.

Officer assisted the general public on G Street.

October 20 — A disturbance was called in from the WRC.

A livestock call on East Wyoming Avenue was received.

A dog was found and reported to the BHCSO.

A dog was found on Crest Avenue.

A business check was done at South Fourth Street and C Street.

Extra patrol was done at the WRC.

A business check was done Basin Town Hall.

Extra patrol was done at the school.

Extra patrol was done at the Mount View Cemetery.

Oct. 14 — 9:58 a.m.: Deputies were informed of possible gun shots east of the river in Greybull.

11:49 a.m.: Information on road closures was released by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Offices [BHCSO] in Basin.

5:11 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

6:22 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A warning was issued.

Oct. 15 — 1:26 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A warning was issued.

3:31 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

10:27 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

12:02 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

12:43 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

1:49 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

2:54 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency.

4:05 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Burlington.

7:07 p.m.: An open 9-1-1 call was received in Basin.

Oct. 16 — 9:04 a.m.: A lost firearm was reported in Hyattville.

9:31 a.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist who ran out of gas in Shell.

9:46 a.m.: A brush fire was reported in Manderson.

11:28 a.m.: Lost horses were reported.

4:02 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Burlington.

6:06 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist with an overheated vehicle in Greybull.

7:03 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A warning was issued.

7:21 p.m.: A traffic hazard was reported in Hyattville.

11:51 p.m.: Officers conducted an additional patrol in Basin.

Oct. 17 — 8:43 a.m.: An injured deer was reported in Otto.

9:04 a.m.: A scam was reported in Basin.

10:49 a.m.: An open 9-1-1 call was received in Manderson.

1:23 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Otto. A warning was issued.

2:04 p.m.: An open 9-1-1 call was received in Emblem.

2:32 p.m.: A two-vehicle accident was reported in Emblem.

6:07 p.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Basin.

11:10 p.m.: A traffic hazard was reported in Emblem.

11:52 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle was reported in Basin.

Oct. 18 — 8:09 a.m.: Check fraud was reported in Basin.

9:44 a.m.: A member of the public requested to speak with a deputy.

10:22 a.m.: Deputies received a citizen complaint.

11:36 a.m.: Deputies assisted the general public.

12:30 p.m.: A controlled burn was reported in Emblem.

12:55 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

2:25 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

2:40 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

3:32 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

4:05 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

5:20 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A warning was issued.

5:31 p.m.: Deputies participated in community relations in Burlington.

7:02 p.m.: Suspicious circumstances were reported in Greybull.

7:19 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

Oct. 19 — 5:56 a.m.: A resident called to report an issue with their water supply in Greybull.

8:34 a.m.: A trespassing issue was reported in Hyattville.

9:14 a.m.: Sheep were crossing the road in Greybull.

9:35 a.m.: A 9-1-1 hangup was received in Basin.

10:28 a.m.: Low water pressure was reported in Greybull.

11:24 a.m.: A welfare check was conducted in Basin.

1:29 p.m.: An injured deer was reported in Basin.

3:42 p.m.: A man was reportedly shooting at a deer near the radio station in Greybull.

6:30 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A citation was issued.

7:16 p.m.: An overdue hiker was reported in Shell; they were subsequently located and safe.

7:51 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in changing a tire.

8:03 p.m.: Deputies received a traffic complaint.

10:20 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A citation was issued.

11:39 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

Oct. 20 — 2:28 a.m.: Two sheepdogs were reportedly on the road in Greybull.

8:43 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

9:01 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

11:10 a.m.: A disturbance was reported in Basin.

12:20 p.m.: An open 9-1-1 call was received in Shell.

12:23 p.m.: A wildland fire was reported in Burlington.

12:53 p.m.: Deputies performed a business check in Greybull.

2:34 p.m.: A dead antelope was reported in the middle of the highway in Basin.

2:43 p.m.: A field was on fire in Emblem.

5:35 p.m.: A scam was reported in Basin.

6:18 p.m.: Fraud was reported in Greybull.

7:31 p.m.: A dead antelope was reported in the middle of the highway in Greybull.

7:39 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A warning was issued.

8:03 p.m.: Deputies made field contact in Manderson.

8:12 p.m.: Deputies responded to an injured and suffering deer in Burlington.

8:39 p.m.: Deputies made field contact in Manderson.

11:45 p.m.: Dulcie Kate Vanvoorhis, of Manderson, was arrested on a warrant, for child endangerment with a controlled substance, and held for another agency.
