• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

October 28 — Officer assisted the general public at Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC).

A dog was at large on South Second Street.

Officer assisted another agency on West Wyoming Avenue. 

A civil matter occurred on South Fifth Street.

October 29 — A VIN inspection was done at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

A civil matter occurred at the BHCSO.

Officer initiated activity at Basin School Zone.

Officer initiated activity at Riverside Middle High School for community service.

Officer assisted DFS at South Ninth Street.

An officer had responded to an accident that occurred by the fairgrounds, no injuries.

A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

October 30 — A VIN inspection was done on South Fourth Street.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

Extra patrol was done at WRC.

Extra patrol was done at the School Zone.

A business check was done at Big Horn School District #4.

October 31 — Information was requested from the officer on duty on South Fourth Street.

A VIN inspection was done at BHCSO.

Officer initiated activity at South Ninth Street.

Domestic dispute on North Fourth Street.

Extra patrol was done at the School Zone. 

November 1 — Civil standby on South Sixth Street.

Two VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

An officer initiated community relations at the Basin Recreation Center.

A Mountain Cur dog on North Seventh Street ran off when cannon was fired at the football game.

Officer initiated a foot patrol of businesses on South Fourth Street and C Street.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin School Zone.

November 2 — A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

A call was received about nuisance dogs on North Sixth Street.

A traffic complaint occurred on US Hwy 16/20.

November 3 — A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart

Dogs at large at the South Big Horn Ambulance Bay on North Sixth Street.

A business check was done at Family Dollar.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

Officer initiated a foot patrol of businesses on North Fourth Street and C Street.

A business check was done at Big Horn School District #4.

Oct. 28 — 1:26 a.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

8:32 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

8:57 a.m.: A livestock trespass issue involving goats was reported in Greybull.

9:42 a.m.: A welfare check was conducted in Basin.

11:39 a.m.: A cow was reportedly on the side of the road in Greybull.

2:02 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

2:03 p.m.: A dog was reportedly at-large in Greybull.

2:33 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

3:10 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Otto. A citation was issued.

3:17 p.m.: Lost property was reported in Basin.

3:39 p.m.: A rapid 9-1-1 call was received in Greybull.

3:53 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

4:14 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

Oct. 29 — 9:10 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

10:04 p.m.: A question concerning a warrant was submitted to deputies in Basin.

11:38 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

12:14 p.m.: Deputies responded to a civil matter in Basin.

12:35 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

12:54 p.m.: A dead antelope was reported as a traffic hazard on the highway in Greybull.

1:02 p.m.: An accident with property damage was reported in Burlington.

2:38 p.m.: An accidental 9-1-1 call was received in Greybull.

9:58 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency. 

Oct. 30 — 6:40 a.m.: A bad smell was reported near Manderson.

7:29 a.m.: Two abandoned vehicles were reported in Basin.

8:41 a.m.: An accident involving a car and deer was reported in Greybull.

11:47 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Burlington.

2:08 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

3:20 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A warning was issued.

Oct. 31 — 7:45 a.m.: Deputies participated in community service in Greybull.

9:09 a.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Basin.

3:10 p.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Basin.

5:20 p.m.: Deputies participated in community relations in Burlington.

6:47 p.m.: A trespass issue was reported in Shell. 

7:56 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

10:07 p.m.: An extra patrol was conducted in Shell.

1:17 p.m.: Deputies participated in community relations in Burlington.

1:42 p.m.: A cow was out on the highway in Greybull.

4:01 p.m.: A small wildland fire was reported in Burlington.

6:13 p.m.: Cows were out on the highway in Burlington.

6:48 p.m.: Deputies responded to reports of a man walking on the side of the highway in Manderson.

7:44 p.m.: A resident notified deputies that their cows were being moved across the highway in Otto.

9:38 p.m.: A vehicle driving erratically was reported in Manderson.

10:29 p.m.: A cow was out on the highway in Greybull.

Nov. 2 — 9:00 a.m.: A resident notified deputies that their cows were being moved on the road in Burlington.

9:25 a.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Basin.

9:37 a.m.: A cow was reportedly laying in the ditch in Otto.

4:10 p.m.: An injured cow was reported in Otto.

4:40 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency.

5:50 p.m.: A traffic complaint was received in Burlington.

7:45 p.m.: A traffic complaint was received in Manderson.

8:53 p.m.: A business check was conducted in Greybull.

Nov. 3 — 12:04 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A warning was issued.

9:49 a.m.: An extra patrol was performed by deputies in Burlington.

10:06 a.m.: An accidental 9-1-1 call was received in Basin.

5:05 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

6:43 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Greybull.

7:24 p.m.: A cow was reportedly stuck in a cattle guard in Greybull.
