The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

December 30 — Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

A VIN inspection was done at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

December 31 — Officer assisted a caller from Three Rivers Health asking a question.

Property damage occurred at Henderson Field.

Basin PD assisted other agency at South Third Street and Montana Avenue.

Building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

January 1 — Officer assisted the general public on West B Street.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

Officer did a welfare check on South Fifth Street.

January 2 — Officer received a call for information only.

A resident was bit by a dog on South Eighth Street.

January 3 — Two VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

Basin PD assisted another agency at North Seventh Street.

Officer assisted another agency at South Eighth Street.

Officer assisted another agency at South Fifth Street.

Property damage occurred on North Sixth Street.

Officer was at West B Street for community event.

Ordinance violation occurred at West B Street.

January 4 — A civil matter occurred at the BHCSO.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin School Zone.

January 5  — A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

A civil matter occurred on North Sixth Street.

Dec. 30 — 6:37 a.m.: An accident in which a vehicle slid off the road was reported in Shell.

8:00 a.m.: Cameron Joseph Nielson, of Anchorage, AK, was arrested and sentenced serving time in Basin. 

8:47 a.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Manderson.

9:39 a.m.: A vehicle reportedly drove through a fence in Burlington.

2:20 p.m.: A REDDI report concerning a vehicle travelling through Manderson was received.

3:16 p.m.: Livestock was reportedly near the highway in Manderson.

4:29 p.m.: An abandoned 9-1-1 call was received in Basin.

8:11 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin. 

8:43 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

8:46 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle was reported in Greybull.

Dec. 31 — 12:37 a.m.: A suspicious person was reported under the Big Horn River Bridge in Greybull.

8:29 a.m.: Deputies responded to a commercial fire alarm triggered in Basin.

11:35 a.m.: A lost animal was reported in Manderson.

12:15 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

12:29 p.m.: A rapid SOS ping was received from a device located in Shell.

12:56 p.m.: Deputies assisted the general public.

1:26 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

1:31 p.m.: Deputies controlled traffic in Manderson.

4:10 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Greybull.

5:35 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

5:37 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

6:05 p.m.: An accident with property damage was reported in Manderson.

8:53 p.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Basin.

9:28 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

10:03 p.m.: Deputies made field contact with a subject in Greybull.

Jan. 2 — 8:19 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A citation was issued.

11:51 a.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

2:30 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

8:44 p.m.: A traffic hazard was reported in Greybull.

Jan. 3 — 8:20 a.m.: Damean Robert Acton, of Greybull, was arrested for violating his parole and defrauding a drug and alcohol screening test.

9:29 a.m.: A dog was reportedly found in Basin.

12:09 p.m.: Traffic control for a cattle drive was requested in Manderson.

2:59 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A warning was issued.

3:04 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

3:40 p.m.: Deputies assisted probation and parole officers in Basin.

3:46 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

6:35 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Basin.

7:16 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

9:54 p.m.: A rapid SOS ping was received from a device in Basin.

10:13 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

Jan. 4 — 6:09 a.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Greybull.

9:40 a.m.: Over a dozen were reportedly on the railroad tracks in Basin.

10:04 a.m.: A female border collie with a pink collar was found in Emblem.

12:25 p.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Manderson.

1:31 p.m.: The cows reportedly were still on the railroad tracks in Basin.

3:20 p.m.: A wounded golden eagle was reported in Burlington.

4:16 p.m.: Livestock was reportedly on the highway in Manderson. 

4:36 p.m.: Search and Rescue were called out for a vehicle stuck on the mountain in snow.

6:58 p.m.: An abandoned 9-1-1 call was received in Basin.

9:39 p.m.: A REDDI report concerning a vehicle travelling through Basin was received.

Jan. 5 — 12:40 p.m.: A motorist advised deputies that their personal vehicle had become disabled and was moved off the main roadway for safety.

6:15 p.m.: Two horses and a donkey were reportedly loose on the road in Otto.

Deputies responded to a fire alarm triggered in Shell. The call was later cancelled.

10:31 a.m.: Deputies responded to a civil matter in Basin.

10:36 a.m.: Deputies responded to a small fire on school property in Burlington.

11:29 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

11:54 a.m.: A rapid SOS was received in Shell.

1:05 p.m.: A single sheep was loose near the highway in Basin.

3:26 p.m.: A cow was out on the highway in Basin.

4:04 p.m.: A white cow was out on the highway in Basin.

4:22 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Manderson.

4:40 p.m.: Deputies assisted Game and Fish.

4:02 p.m.: A dog was reportedly chasing a deer in Greybull.

8:30 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued. 

Dec. 21 — 10:17 a.m.: Deputies responded to a civil matter in Basin.

10:32 a.m.: Livestock was reportedly loose on the highway in Greybull.

11:58 a.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

12:10 p.m.: Dogs were reportedly loose on the highway in Greybull.

1:16 p.m.: Lost dogs were reported in Greybull.

2:44 p.m.: Deputies responded to a civil matter in Basin.

3:46 p.m.: A member of the public dialed 9-1-1 to test their cell phone.

7:27 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

8:28 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

Dec. 22 — 1:38 a.m.: Deputies made field contact with a man in Basin.

9:45 a.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Basin.

4:22 p.m.: A 9-1-1 hangup call was received in Basin.

4:26 p.m.: A 9-1-1 call was referred to Oregon state.

6:05 p.m.: Livestock were reportedly loose on the road in Basin.

6:27 p.m.: A lost dog was reported in Basin.

7:21 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

8:49 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Burlington. A warning was issued.

Dec. 23 — 12:43 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

11:38 a.m.: A resident in Basin lodged a complaint about motorcycles driving at high speeds on their road.

2:02 p.m.: A REDDI report was received in Greybull.

2:21 p.m.: A scam was reported in Greybull.

3:41 p.m.: A suspicious person was reported in Basin.

6:30 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

Dec. 24 — 12:28 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

2:29 a.m.: Deputies made field contact at Three Rivers Health in Basin.

3:00 a.m.: Michael Jack Peterson, of Burlington, was arrested for driving with an open container of alcohol and a blood alcohol content of .08% or greater.

10:29 a.m.: An accident with property damage was reported in Burlington.

11:26 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

2:49 p.m.: Deputies responded to a civil matter in Shell.

9:00 p.m.: Suspicious circumstances were reported in Basin.

11:15 p.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Greybull.

11:52 p.m.: Deputies conducted a foot patrol on the East River Bridge in Greybull.

Dec. 25 — 12:58 a.m.: Deputies conducted an extra patrol in Greybull.

8:29 a.m.: An accident in which a vehicle slid from the road was reported in Otto.

7:17 p.m.: Deputies conducted a welfare check in Manderson.

7:18 p.m.: An accident involving a truck, which hit a powerline and flipped, was reported in Emblem.

9:`0 p.m.: William Travis Peasley, of Emblem, was arrested for a failure to appear.

Dec. 26 — 8:50 a.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Basin.

10:52 a.m.: Dispatch answered an inquiry concerning an existing warrant.

3:36 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

3:40 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

4:46 p.m.: A VIN Inspection occurred in Basin.

4:04 p.m.: An accident in which a vehicle slid from the road was reported in Greybull. Property damage occurred.

4:41 p.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Basin.

9:20 p.m.: Deputies in Basin assisted the Podera County Sheriff’s Office in Mont.

Dec. 27 — 7:59 a.m.: Deputies responded to a fire alarm in Emblem.

9:40 a.m.: Deputies conducted a welfare check in Shell.

10:21 a.m.: Deputies conducted a welfare check in Basin.

2:01 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

5:47 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

5:53 p.m.: A traffic complaint concerning a vehicle travelling through Greybull was received.

6:51 p.m.: Deputies made field contact with a subject in Greybull.

7:06 p.m.: Deputies conducted an extra patrol in Greybull.

11:15 p.m.: Deputies referred a 9-1-1 call requesting a welfare check to California.
