• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

January 20 — A patrol was done at the School Zone.

Officer assisted a resident with some information.

Basin PD assisted the general public on South Third Street.

January 21 — Officer assisted the general public on South Third Street with a question about his houseguest.

January 22 — A resident on Holdrege Avenue hit a phone line and needs assistance from public works person.

An ordinance violation occurred on South Fourth and A Street.

A VIN inspection was done at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

January 23 — Trespassing occurred at the Overland Express Mart.

A VIN inspection ws done at the (BHCSO).

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

January 24 — A utility call came from a home on South Street.

Basin PD initiated activity at the school to cover an event.

January 25 — Larceny occurred on South Eighth Street concering a computer.

Officer initiated activity at the school for a community event.

A business check was done at the Basin Market

Extra patrol was done at the Basin Town Hall.

January 26 — Basin PD provided information to two callers.

A citizen complaint occurred on South Eighth Street and Holdrege Avenue.

Officer provided information to a resident.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin School.

Jan. 20 — 11:20 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

12:41 p.m.: Deputies assisted a delivery man at the courthouse in Basin.

4:04 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

4:38 p.m.: Deputies made field contact with a subject in Greybull.

6:17 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

10:08 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

10:12 p.m.: Deputies responded to an SOS call received from a vehicle in Manderson.

Jan. 21 — 9:30 a.m.: Multiple VIN inspections occurred in Manderson.

1:46 p.m.: Cows were out on the highway in Manderson.

3:41 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist with a flat tire in Greybull.

3:56 p.m.: Deputies responded to a call for assistance from a truck driver whose brakes locked up in Greybull. 

5:14 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist with a flat tire in Greybull.

6:25 p.m.: A rapid 9-1-1 was received in Burlington.

Jan. 22 — 10:01 a.m.: Cows were out on the highway in Manderson.

2:24 p.m.: Deputies were notified of fire alarm testing in Basin.

2:33 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

3:17 p.m.: Deputies were notified of a false fire alarm call in Basin.

3:19 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A citation was issued.

5:31 p.m.: Livestock was on the highway in Manderson.

6:17 p.m.: The Sheriff’s office was notified of a road closure on Highway 14 between Greybull and Dayton with an unknown reopening time.

6:43 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

7:00 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

Jan. 23 — 12:18 a.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

9:02 a.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

10:07 a.m.: An accident involving a vehicle with windshield damage after striking an eagle was reported in Manderson.

12:37 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

1:23 p.m.: A caller requested the number of the local food bank.

1:47 p.m.: A rapid 9-1-1 call was received in Basin.

6:09 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

10:45 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

Jan. 24 — 10:16 a.m.: An injured antelope was reported on the side of the highway in Basin.

12:42 p.m.: An accidental 9-1-1 call was received in Basin.

2:25 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

4:39 p.m.: A utility call was received in Basin.

7:42 p.m.: A utility call was received in Basin.

10:13 p.m.: A caller reported spot lighting near his home.

10:41 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

Jan. 25 — 8:30 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A citation was issued.

10:00 a.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

12:12 p.m.: Deputies responded to reports of hay bales catching flame on a truck bed in Otto.

5:12 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Basin.

7:11 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A warning was issued.

7:53 p.m.: Deputies were notified of a false fire alarm call in Shell at Antelope Butte Ski Lodge.

Jan. 26 — 1:07 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin.

1:41 a.m.: Ramon Hernandez, of Worland, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and without an interlock device in Basin.

10:09 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

10:35 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

1:18 p.m.: Deputies requested assistance from Wyoming Game and Fish in Basin in a wildlife matter.

5:32 p.m.: Deputies conducted a welfare check in Manderson.

7:17 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Manderson.

7:25 p.m.: Deputies assisted Highway Patrol in Greybull.

7:41 p.m.: Livestock was on the highway in Burlington.

7:48 p.m.: A lost dog was reported in Otto.
