• Police Report
The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):
February 3 — Extra patrol was done at the school.
A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.
A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.
February 4 — Fraud occurred on South Fourth Street.
An officer assisted the general public on South Sixth Street.
Basin PD assisted with a traffic hazard at the Overland Express Mart.
Threats occurred at the Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC).
An officer responded to a harrassment call at North Fifth Street.
A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.
February 5 — A person at the WRC gave an officer information.
Extra patrol was done at the Mount View Cemetery.
Extra patrol was done at the Basin School.
Extra patrol was done at the WRC.
February 6 — Two VIN inspections were done at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).
A civil standby occurred at the Overland Express Mart.
An assault occurred on US Hwy 16/20.
February 7 — Officer initiated a school zone patrol.
An officer initiated activity at the school for a community event.
A business check was done at Overland Express Mart.
Extra patrol was done at the School.
February 8 — An injured deer was reported on North Eigth Street.
A resident called the BHCSO for some information only.
An officer assissted another agency on North Sixth Street in Greybull.
Accident occurred at WRC with property damage.
A resident on South Sixth called to explain that an extension cord plugged into the wall went from yellow to black and the wall is warm.
February 9 — A business check was done at the school.
A business check was done at the Basin Town Hall.
Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.
An assault was done on Hwy 20.
A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

Feb. 3 — 12:03 a.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.
7:03 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.
12:15 p.m.: Cows were reportedly out in Basin.
3:55 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Hyattville.
9:07 p.m.: Deputies responded to a commercial burglar alarm in Burlington.
Feb. 4 — 8:15 a.m.: Deputies assisted probation and parole officers in Basin.
9:16 a.m.: Deputies conducted an additional patrol in the Medicine Lodge State Park area of Hyattville.
11:52 a.m.: A found cell phone was turned in at the Sheriff’s offices in Basin.
3:55 p.m.: An Otto resident requested assistance in retrieving his goat from his neighbor’s property.
4:15 p.m.: Deputies responded to reports of a car that was accidentally locked with a dog inside in Hyattville. The matter was subsequently referred to another agency.
4:48 p.m.: Deputies assisted the Greybull Police Department.
Feb. 5 — 10:24 a.m.: Deputies provided traffic control for cattle being moved across the highway in Greybull.
1:45 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Greybull.
8:00 p.m.: An injured deer was reported in Basin.
Feb. 6 — 7:11 a.m.: Deputies assisted probation and parole officers in Basin.
8:15 a.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Basin.
9:28 a.m.: Cows were out near the highway in Manderson.
Feb. 7 — 7:06 a.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.
9:03 a.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Greybull.
1:08 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Basin.
1:30 p.m.: A traffic complaint involving a vehicle travelling through Greybull on Highway 20 S. was received by dispatch.
8:07 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist whose vehicle slid from the road in Greybull.
Feb. 8 — 10:33 a.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist whose vehicle slid from the road in Basin.
1:11 p.m.: Deputies assisted the Greybull Police Department.
4:45 p.m.: Information concerning a found bumper with a County 9 plate attached was provided to dispatch by a caller from Cody.
4:55 p.m.: An accident with property damage was reported in Basin.
Feb. 9 — 12:08 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.
1:13 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.
7:24 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A warning was issued.
