• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

March 3 — Two VIN inspections were done on Big B Drive.

A business check was done on South Fourth Street.

A business check was done at Family Dollar.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin School.

An officer assisted the general public at the Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC).

March 4 — A civil matter occurred at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

Four VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

A building check was done at the Basin School.

A building check was done at the Basin Town Hall.

A welfare check was done on South Sixth Street.

March 5 — Basin PD escorted the girls basketball team out of town as they headed to state.

A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

An officer did a school zone patrol.

A welfare check was done at the Basin Post Office.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin School.

March 6 — Officer assisted the public twice at the BHCSO.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

An officer assisted the public at the BHCSO.

A REDDI report occurred at Three Rivers Health on US Hwy 16/20.

March 7 — Officer assisted another agency with a semi truck with a back right tire sparking on Hwy 20.

Basin PD assisted the public on South Third Street.

A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

Officer initiated activity at the BHC Library.

An officer assisted the public at the BHCSO.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin School.

Officer attended a community event at the school gym to assist the public.

March 8 — Officer initiated community relations at the First Baptist Church.

An officer assisted the public at the BHCSO.

March 9 — An officer assisted with information on South Sixth Street.

Basin PD assisted a motorist who had locked their keys in their car on South Eighth Street.

A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

• Sheriff's Report

The following calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office: (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the Court:

March 3 — 3:52 p.m.: A possible wildland fire near Manderson was reported.

6:09 p.m.: An officer assisted a motorist at South Fourth Street and Holdrege Avenue in Basin.

8:48 p.m.: A traffic stop at Highway 14 and Road 28 resulted in the issuance of a citation.

9:05 p.m.: A traffic stop at milepost 3 on U.S. Highway 14 resulted in a warning.

March 4 — 9:07 a.m.: Assistance was provided in a civil matter.

2:30 p.m.: Vandalism at the sheriff’s office was reported.

6:09 p.m.: An officer initiated activity in Manderson, where a vehicle was broken down. Its owner planned to bring a trailer and pick it up.

7:10 p.m.: An officer assisted the highway patrol on a call near milepost 195 on Highway 20 South.

10:16 p.m.: A traffic stop near milepost 188 on Highway 20 South resulted in a warning.

11:24 p.m.: A traffic stop near milepost 191 on Highway 20 South resulted in a warning.

March 5 — 10:02 a.m.: Livestock was out near milepost 8 on Highway 31 in Manderson.

10:37 a.m.: An officer assisted a resident who needed help changing a tire near C Street and South Fifth in Basin.

10:58 a.m.: An officer was summoned to Road 26 1/2 to deal with an easement dispute between neighbors.

12:27 p.m.: A traffic stop near milepost 215 on Highway 310 resulted in the issuance of a citation.

1:57 p.m.: A civil matter involving a land easement resulted in an adult arrest.

11 p.m.: An officer assisted the highway patrol near milepost 183 on Highway 20 South.

March 6 — 2:21 a.m. A traffic stop at South Sixth Street and Fourth Avenue South resulted in a warning.

10:26 a.m.:  A weapon was reported stolen from an address on Lane 39 1/2 in Otto.

3:53 p.m.: An officer assisted in a dispute over land near Road 26 1/2.

March 7 — 7:20 a.m.: A semi with sparks coming off the back right tire was reported near milepost 192 on Highway 20 South.

1:55 p.m.: Dispatch received a complaint about unsafe passing that occurred near milepost 194 on Highway 20 South.

2:25 p.m.: A traffic stop near milepost 192 on Highway 20 South resulted in a warning.

3:25 p.m.: An officer responded to a burglar alarm at TCT in Basin, but cleared.

4:53 p.m.: An officer assisted a motorist near milepost 192 on Highway 20 South.

March 8 — 12:04 a.m.: An officer provided an agency assist on South Sixth Street in Greybull.

8:17 a.m.: An officer assisted Game and Fish on a call involving property damage near Paint Rock Canyon Enterprises on Lane 49 1/2 in Hyattville.

4:03 p.m.: An officer assisted a motorist who was having car trouble near milepost 211 on Highway 310.

March 9 — 3:31 p.m.: A traffic stop near Highway 30 and Road 17 in the Otto area resulted in a warning.
