The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

July 8 — Sheep were being moved across highway 30.

A civil standby occurred on South Eighth Street.

Firearm return request at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

A meeting was held at BPD in regards to helping another agency.

Two VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO

A disturbance was reported at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds.

A VIN inspection was done at the Big Horn Rural Electric on South Street.

False alarm on West B Street.

July 9 — Stolen items were reported on South Sixth Street.

A meeting was held at BPD in regards to helping another agency.

Business check was done at Overland Express Mart.

Suspicious person at Wyoming Retirement Center was reported.

July 10 — Three VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

Traffic complaint on Highway 20 South was received.

Larceny occurred on North Eighth Street.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin School.

July 11 — A VIN inspection was done at North Seventh Street.

A VIN inspection was done at BHCSO.

A VIN inspection was done on South Fourth Street.

Request to remove a rattlesnake from East B. Street.

July 12 — A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

Resident on South Sixth Street requested to speak with an officer.

Welfare check was done on South Sixth Street.

A VIN inspection was done on at the Storage Shed on South Ninth Street.

Ordiance violation was given on South Eighth Street.

Officer assisted a motorist on A Street and 3rd Street.

Larceny occurred on West Wyoming Avenue.

July 14 — Business check was done at Overland Express Mart.

July 8 — 3:00 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

5:21 a.m.: A car and deer went head-to-head in Burlington. The matter was referred to another agency.

6:38 a.m.: Sheep were moved across the highway in Basin.

9:02 a.m.: Deputies received a firearm return request.

11:40 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

4:34 p.m.: Deputies performed a business check in Greybull.

5:30 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A warning was issued.

5:46 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Burlington.

6:29 p.m.: Goats were on the highway in Greybull.

8:17 p.m.: Deputies performed a business check in Greybull.

July 9 — 7:19 a.m.: Deputies assisted another agency.

9:35 a.m.: Deputies were advised of fire alarms being tested at the Wyoming Retirement Home.

9:53 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

11:26 a.m.: Deputies assisted the general public.

12:31 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

3:24 p.m.: A suspicious person was reported on Highway 14 near Shell.

3:48 p.m.: A suspicious person was again reported on Highway 14 near Shell.

4:19 p.m.: Deputies answered a citizen’s question regarding motor vehicle titles.

4:36 p.m.: An out of control trash fire was reported in Hyattville.

5:19 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

8:45 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

10:01 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A warning was issued.

10:34 p.m.: A suspicious person was reported in Basin.

10:44 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

10:57 p.m.: Deputies performed an additional patrol in the Shell area.

11:22 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

July 10 — 12:01 a.m.: Suspicious circumstances were reported in Burlington.

1:34 a.m.: Deputies performed an additional patrol in the Greybull area. 

9:06 a.m.: A K-9 search was requested in Emblem.

10:15 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

10:32 a.m.: Deputies received a traffic complaint concerning a vehicle passing a pilot car amid road construction.

10:51 a.m.: A 9-1-1 hangup was received by dispatch.

11:01 a.m.: A scam was reported to deputies in Greybull.

11:16 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Greybull.

12:30 p.m.: An accidental 9-1-1 was received from a residence in Shell.

4:07 p.m.: Deputies performed an additional patrol in the Hyattville area.

5:23 p.m.: A wildfire was reported in Burlington.

7:51 p.m.: An REA pole was struck in the Otto area, causing a power outage.

July 11 — 1:56 a.m.: Deputies performed a business check in Greybull.

8:53 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Hyattville.

9:57 a.m.: Cows were loose in Emblem.

11:25 a.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Greybull.

11:43 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

11:49 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Greybull.

1:28 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency.

2:09 p.m.: Deputies investigated an abandoned vehicle in Manderson.

2:20 p.m.: Sheep were loose on the road in Greybull.

2:22 p.m.: An accidental 9-1-1 was received from a residence in Basin.

7:08 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Emblem.

7:53 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A citation was issued.

8:10 p.m.: Deputies received a report concerning suspicious circumstances in Greybull.

8:13 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

9:16 p.m.: Deputies were notified of fireworks in Burlington.

9:17 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

July 12 — 8:53 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

9:43 a.m.: An ordinance violation was reported in Burlington.

12:07 p.m.: A 9-1-1 hangup call was received by dispatch.

12:59 p.m.: Property damage was reported in Hyattville.

1:36 p.m.: Deputies investigated abandoned vehicles in Otto.

3:57 p.m.: Deputies responded to a fire alarm in Burlington.

5:17 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Shell.

6:00 p.m.: Deputies received a traffic complaint concerning a black Cadillac driving dangerously in the Emblem area.

6:35 p.m.: Search and Rescue (SAR) were notified of a party in need of assistant on FS Road 342 in South Big Horn County.

6:44 p.m.: Deputies performed a welfare check in Otto.

8:48 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Greybull.

9:46 p.m.: Deputies received information from an individual in Basin.

10:29 p.m.: Deputies were notified about a traffic hazard in the Shell area.

July 13 — 1:12 a.m.: Deputies assisted the general public.

10:40 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

11:40 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

1:36 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

2:21 p.m.: Deputies assisted the general public.

4:36 p.m.: A K-9 search was carried out in Greybull.

5:10 p.m.: Clifford Thomas Winters was arrested for unathorized use of a vehicle in Otto.

10:01 p.m.: A single vehicle rollover occurred in Basin to which deputies responded. A report was taken.

July 14 — 12:45 a.m.: Three dogs were reported at-large in Greybull.

1:23 a.m.: A suspicious vehicle was reported in Basin.

7:10 a.m.: A horse was stuck in a fence in Emblem. 

9:28 a.m.: A rapid SOS ping was received from a device in the Shell area.

11:00 a.m.: A REDDI report was received from Shell Falls.

11:07 a.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist.

12:29 p.m.: Deputies performed a business check in Basin.

3:59 p.m.: Deputies were notified of a possible family dispute in Basin.

4:41 p.m: Deputies were notified about a traffic hazard in the Manderson area.

7:30 p.m.: SAR was called to the South SAR Hall for two overdue hikers in the Ten Sleep area.

7:58 p.m.: Suspicious vehicles and people were reported in the Emblem area.

8:53 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

10:59 p.m.: Deputies were notified of a trespass complaint in Basin.
