The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

July 22 — A VIN inspection was done on South Third Street.

Officer assisted the public on Willow Drive.

Two VIN inspections were done at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

Officer assisted a motorist at North Fourth and C Street.

July 23 — Two VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

Business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

July 24 — Officer assisted the general public at South Ninth Street. 

A loose dog was on South Fourth Street.

A VIN inspection was done at BHCSO.

Police assisted another agency on C Street.

Citizen complaint of a brother making threats on C Street.

Citizen complaint involving concern of a child on C Street.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin Boat Ramp.

July 25 — Officer delivered a message to a resident on South Seventh Street.

Two VIN inspections were done at BHCSO.

A vehicle backed into another vehicle on West B Street.

Welfare check was done at the Big Horn County Courthouse.

July 26 — Officer responded to an accident with property damage at the Post Office.

Business check was done at Basin Market.

Business check was done at Overland Express Mart.

Extra patrol was done at School District office on West B Street.

July 28 — Suspicious person observed at the raw water pond on West B Street, but no contact was made.

Extra patrol was done at the raw water pond.

Business check was done at Basin Town Hall.

Male was reportedly screaming and making threats on Orchard Bench Road.

July 29 — Two VIN inspections were done at BHCSO.

July 30 — A VIN inspection was done at the Big Horn County Courthouse. 

Officer initiated a foot patrol at the Big Horn County Fair.

A business check was done at Overland Express Mart.

Community relations were done at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds.

July 31 — Officer initiated a foot patrol at the Big Horn County Fair.

Two VIN inspections were done at BHCSO.

Officer assisted a motorist on North Ninth and C Street.

Officer assisted the public on South Sixth Street.

Citizen complaint was received from the Big Horn County Fairgrounds.

Extra patrol was done at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds.

Officer assisted a motorist at the former Elk Wallow Saloon on South Fourth Street.

August 1 — A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

Community relations activity at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds.

A business check was done at Overland Express Mart.

Lost phone at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds reported.

August 2— A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

August 3 — Suspicious vehicle located at Russell and Russell CPA.

Resident on North Eighth Street requested advice from officer.

Extra patrol done at South Fourth and C Street druing street dance.

Officer initiatied activity at the street dance.

August 4 — Business check was done at Overland Express Mart.

11:58 a.m.: Deputies posted press releases at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Offices (BHCSO) in Basin.

3:54 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

4:01 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Greybull.

5:08 p.m.: Deputies responded to a hay baler on fire.

6:51 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Greybull.

7:20 p.m.: Deputies performed a business check in Greybull.

7:43 p.m.: Six hikers reported that they were unable to reach their camp and had little food or water in the Cloud Peak Wilderness area of Ten Sleep. Search and Rescue responded.

July 30 — 9:27 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

10:20 a.m.: A scam call was reported in Otto. The caller was said to have claimed the RP’s computer was infected with a virus.

11:46 a.m.: Deputies performed a foot patrol at the Fairgrounds.

1:16 p.m.: Deputies performed a foot patrol at the Fairgrounds.

1:23 p.m.: Deputies performed a business check in Basin.

5:36 p.m.: Twisted power lines were reported in Otto.

5:42 p.m.: Deputies performed a foot patrol at the Fairgrounds.

5:44 p.m.: Deputies performed a foot patrol at the Fairgrounds.

7:07 p.m.: Deputies removed a hazard from the road in Greybull.

8:03 p.m.: A citizen complaint concerning a cyclist was received by BHCSO in Basin.

8:53 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Greybull.

9:30 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Shell.

10:15 p.m.: A REDDI report was received concerning a driver travelling through Greybull.

10:40 p.m.: A caller attempting to locate their luggage contacted deputies in Greybull.

July 31 — 12:28 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A citation was issued.

1:37 a.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

12:45 p.m.: Deputies responded to public concern regarding livestock in Greybull.

2:49 p.m.: Livestock were reported on the highway in Otto.

4:25 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

5:33 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Shell.

5:42 p.m.: A caller notified deputies that their vehicle broke down in Basin and they would be removing it from the side of the road shortly.

6:05 p.m.: A traffic complaint was received in Otto.

6:24 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

7:18 p.m.: Deputies performed a foot patrol at the Fairgrounds.

8:01 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

8:19 p.m.: An abandoned 9-1-1 call was received by BHCSO.

8:25 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Ten Sleep.

8:55 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Shell.

9:31 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

9:49 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

9:50 p.m.: A dog was found at the Shell Creek Campground.

10:11 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull.

10:11 p.m.: Mukhammad Yusus Bekmirzaev, of Schaumburg, IL, was arrested in Basin for unauthorized vehicle use.

10:11 p.m.: Utkir Dadaknanov, of Philadelphia, PA, was arrested in Basin for unauthorized vehicle use, driving with a suspended license, speeding in a 30+ mph zone, compulsory auto insurance, and unlawful use of license.

11:56 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

Aug. 1 — 2:45 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

7:54 a.m.: Livestock was reported on the highway in Basin.

9:50 a.m.: A welfare check was performed in Basin.
