• Police Report
The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):
Mar. 23 —A property damage incident was reported involving a 2023 Chevy Colorado that sideswiped a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the parking lot on the north side of the building on South Fourth Street. A police report was taken.
A citizen complaint occurred at Basin Market on South Fourth Street.
A suspicious vehicle was reported on South Sixth Street, across from the respondent’s residence. It is described as a green truck with a white stripe along the bottom, and no one has been seen exiting, causing concern.
Mar. 24 — An officer assisted the public at the Wyoming Retirement Center on Highway 20 following a request regarding a resident making threats.
Two children under five were reported driving a motorized jeep across from Head Start on South Seventh Street.
An officer initiated activity at U.S. Highway 16/20 and Hart Avenue regarding an ordinance violation.
An officer initiated activity at U.S. 16/20 and Hart Avenue in Greybull regarding a hit and run.
Mar. 26 —An officer initiated activity at the Basin Sewer Lagoon on North Street in Basin regarding illegal dumping.
Mar. 27 — An officer assisted Greybull Police Department at North Second Street.
Mar. 28 — A lost domestic animal was reported on South Fifth Street. A female Papillon dog named Bella escaped from the dog groomer’s.
A dog issue was reported on Big Horn Avenue.

March 23 - 5:45 a.m.: Dispatch took a report of utility issues on Beaver Creek Road in Shell.
8:57 a.m.: A citation was issued in a traffic stop on Highway 20 South in Basin.
9:34 a.m.: Trespassing was reported to Big Horn County Sherriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin.
11:09 a.m.: An abandoned vehicle was reported on Orchard Bench Road in Basin.
12:39 p.m.: A controlled burn out of control was reported on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull.
12:43 p.m.: A citizen complaint regarding burning was taken from Lane 37.5 in Greybull.
2:50 p.m.: A caller requested a K-9 search of their newly purchased car on Murphy Street in Basin.
2:58 p.m.: A controlled burn out of control was reported going under the bridge on Rairden Lane near Manderson.
3:50 p.m.: A citizen complaint of smoke was taken on Road 12.5 in Burlington.
March 24 - 8:27 a.m.: Two kids under the age of five were reported allegedly driving a motorized Jeep on South Seventh Street in Basin across from Head Start.
12:59 p.m.: A controlled burn reported out of control checked ok on Highway 433 in Manderson.
4:18 p.m.: A tank battery was reported on fire on Highway 31 in Manderson.
7:17 p.m.: A possible burn was reported at Davies Machine Shop on Greybull River Road in Greybull.
March 25 - 12:39 p.m.: A possible scam was reported to Greybull Police Department on South Fifth Street in Greybull.
3:28 p.m.: A civil standby was conducted on Industrial Avenue in Greybull.
3:51 p.m.: A possible scam was reported on Center Street in Burlington, cleared by patrol.
8:04 p.m.: Possible fraud was reported to BHCSO on Murphy Street in Basin.
9:08 p.m.: A scam was reported to BHCSO on Murphy Street in Basin.
March 26 - 10:53 a.m.: A couch cushion was reported as a traffic hazard on Highway 20 South in Basin.
3:59 p.m.: A scam call was reported on Sagebrush Lane in Greybull.
4:31 p.m.: A R.E.D.D.I. report was made on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull, officers were unable to locate.
5:18 p.m.: Community relations were conducted at Buff Gym at Greybull High School on North Sixth Street in Greybull.
7 p.m.: A house that had previously burnt down on Trapper Creek Road in Shell was reported still smoking and flaming.
11:27 p.m.: A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported on Highway 30 South in Greybull.
March 27 - 11:31 a.m.: Larceny was reported at T.h.e. Shop on Orchard Bench Road in Basin where the glass of a window was reported stolen out of a Toyota Landcruiser within the past two months.
1:16 p.m.: An out-of-control controlled burn reportedly jumped the creek on Highway 31 in Manderson.
3:11 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate the subject of erratic driving reported on Highway 20 South in Basin.
5:13 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Greybull PD at Greybull Apartments on North Second Street in Greybull.
6:30 p.m.: Field contact was made on East River Bridge on Highway 14 in Greybull.
6:34 p.m.: A horse was reported out on Highway 30 in Burlington.
March 28 - 10:39 a.m.: Community relations were conducted at Greybull High School on North Sixth Street in Greybull.
11:56 a.m.: A cow was reported on the railroad tracks on Highway 20 South in Manderson, officers were unable to locate.
2:11 p.m.: An out-of-control controlled burn was reported on Lane 39 in Otto.
2:31 p.m.: A burn ban was put into place by the Big Horn County Fire Warden through March 30 at 8 p.m.
4:40 p.m.: A single sheep reported out on Highway 30 in Otto was gone when the officer arrived.
March 29 - 8:55 a.m.: An injured deer was reported at Highway 20 South and Lane 36.5 in Greybull.
11:51 a.m.: A calf was reported found on Road 26.5 in Greybull.
4:01 p.m.: A field was reported on fire on Highway 20 South in Manderson.
7:18 p.m.: A dirt bike was reported running up and down Golf Course Road in Basin.
