• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

Apr. 27 —An accident was reported at milepost 102 on Wyoming Highway 30, where the vehicle slid off the roadway and struck a fence post.

A civil matter occurred at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO) on Murphy Street.

A loose dog was reported tpo the BHCSO on Murphy Street.

Apr. 29 — An officer initiated activity regarding a request for information at the Wyoming Retirement Center on U.S. Highway 16/20.

Larceny was reported on Crest Avenue.

A domestic dispute occurred on C Street involving a 12-year-old. He reported being afraid that his mother would hit him. The juvenile was in tears and appeared visibly terrified. He stated his mother was acting in a frightening manner.

Apr. 30—A utility issue was reported on F Street.

May 1 — Information was requested at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street.

A lost dog was reported on South Second Street.

May 2 — A utility call regarding a power outage occurred at Diana’s Place on W B Street.
An informational call was received from the K Bar Motel on Greybull Avenue.

May 3 — An officer assisted the general public on South Sixth Street.

An officer initiated activity at Riverside Middle/High School on W B Street.

Suspicious circumstances were reported at North Sixth Street/E Street.

An officer assisted BHCSO, regarding a juvenile matter on lane 38.

April 27 - 3:13 p.m.: A scam was reported to Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

4:59 p.m.: A cow was reported out on Highway 433 in Manderson. 

5:57 p.m.:  A black cow was reported out on Highway 20 in Manderson. 

April 28 - 7:22 a.m.: Cows were reported loose on Highway 14 in Greybull. 

6:39 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol on Highway 14/16/20 in Emblem. 

April 29 - 9:30 a.m.: Animal neglect was reported on Beaver Creek Road in Shell. 

8:50 p.m.: A missing dog was reported at Three Rivers Health on Highway 20 in Basin. 

April 30 - 4:53 a.m.: Livestock were reported out on Highway 14 in Greybull. 

2:04 p.m.: An animal issue was reported on Highway 433 in Manderson, officers were unable to locate. 

5:59 p.m.: A utility call was made on F Street in Basin. 

6:26 p.m.: Community relations were conducted at Riverside High School on South 12th Street in Basin. 

May 1 - 1:32 a.m.: Suspicious persons were reported at Railroad Street and 13th Avenue North in Greybull, officers were unable to locate. 

2:01 a.m.: A suspicious circumstance reported at Hiway Bar and Cafe in Manderson was cleared by patrol. 

7:48 a.m.: A utility call was made on Myrtle Avenue in Shell. 

9:10 a.m.: A cow was reported out at West Poplar Avenue and Main Street in Burlington, officers were unable to locate. 

1:19 p.m.: A car accident with the car in the middle of the road was reported on Highway 14 in Shell. 

2:48 p.m.: A R.E.D.D.I. report was made on Highway 32 in Emblem. 

3:37 p.m.: An accident with property damage reportedly blocked the highway at Lisa Western Cuisine and Spirits on Greybull Avenue in Greybull. 

6:35 p.m.: A R.E.D.D.I. report was made at the Greybull Apartments on North Second Street in Greybull. 

9:33 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle was reported at Burlington Schools on School Avenue in Burlington, officers were unable to locate. 

11:07 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Greybull Police Department at Highway 20 South and Greybull River Road. 

May 2 - 9:40 a.m.: A cow and calf were reported out on Highway 31 in Manderson. 

9:01 p.m.: A citizen complaint was taken on Lane 34 in Greybull. 

11:51 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Greybull Police Department at Greybull River Road and Highway 20 South. 

May 3 - 12:23 a.m.: A suspicious vehicle was reported on Highway 14 in Greybull, cleared by patrol. 

12:48 a.m.: A 911 call from KOA Campgrounds on North Second Street in Greybull needed transferred to Riverton. 

12:51 a.m.: A citation was issued following suspicious circumstances investigated by Greybull Police Department at Smokehouse Saloon, which BHCSO assisted on. 

1:09 p.m.: An out-of-control-burn made its way towards the river bottom on Greybull River Road. Greybull Volunteer Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames in about three hours. They were called again the next morning for remaining smoke. 

5:12 p.m.: A fire was reported headed towards the highway at Highway 433 and Lane 50.5 in Manderson, cleared by patrol. 

6:02 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Basin Police Department at North Sixth Street and E Street in Basin. 

ARRESTS

Tamara Asay of Byron was arrested in Basin on Monday, April 27 for an act of physical control with BAC over 0.8, released after one day.
