Dumping for free starts next week

The Town of Lovell and the Lovell Police Dept. are jointly coordinating a town cleanup event Oct. 15 through Nov. 1. Residents can pick up coupons for free dumping privileges at the Police Annex in Lovell. The coupons will allow recipients to dump for free at the local landfill east of Cowley.

“We have three weekends here with a good opportunity to clean up our properties,” said Lovell Police Chief Nick Lewis. “I really hope everyone takes advantage of it.”

The free dumping coupons are for non-commercial interests only. Loads will be inspected before coupons are issued. Residents are asked to haul iron and metal separately. No tires will be accepted.

Last spring 89 coupons were issued during a similar cleanup event held in the area. Lewis pointed out that this is a great time to offer assistance to a neighbor who may not have the means or physical ability to haul items on their own.
