Fifty-four golfers tee off in SSB tourney

by nathan osterA team of golfers from Worland posted the low score in the men’s division at last weekend’s Security State Bank golf tournament at Midway Golf Course.Fifty-four golfers teed off in the tournament, which was set up as a three-man best ball.Aaron Grosch, Jordan McKamey and Andy Anderson finished the two-day tournament with a score of 106.22 after firing matching rounds of 53.1 on Saturday and Sunday.Second went to the team of Jerry Gebhart, Shawn Roods and Dave Walgton, who came in with a 107.14 (rounds of 53.07 and 54.07).Brandon May, Rod Winland and David Hayes shot rounds of 55.5 and 52.5 for a two-day total of 108, good for third.Finishing in fourth was the team of Steve Core, Pat Core and Jim Core, who shot a 53.99 and a 55.99 to end up at 109.98.There were three teams in the women’s/mixed division.  The women’s/mixed champions were Curt Massey, Melissa Good, and Kelly Williamson.  They shot a 54.79 and 54.79 net for a 109.58 two-day total.There was also an alternate shot derby that paired the top seven local qualifiers with the top seven out-of-town qualifiers. Mike Larchick and Chris Bundren won it, followed by Scott McColloch and Jon Baker in second and Michael McColloch and Joe Cornella in third.
