Riverside High School Art Club raising money for trip
The RHS Art Club will have a table in front of the Basin Area Chamber Nov. 25 during the Town of Basin’s Home for the Holidays event.
They will sell bath bombs, and hot cocoa bombs, to be sold in little baggies and or in little hand crafted wooden/wood burned boxes that accommodate the “bombs” or a Christmas decoration. Also, some palette pieces that are made into Trees, painted on for winter scenes, some horseshoe coat hangers, horseshoe wine rack, a horse shoe Christmas tree, handmade, crocheted Christmas Tree liner for under the tree and a raffle for a flannel backed Blue Jean quilt.
Art teacher Dineen Mueller said the money will go towards the club’s trip to Washington DC and New York in June 2024. The purpose of the trip is to expose the students to this nation’s history and culture within the humanities.
She added, “Students have the daunting requirement to help pay for their own travel, to include flights, lodging, to all locations and events.” Those will include a Broadway Play, Ellis Island, The World War II Memorials, the Smithsonian and Natural History Museums.
Mueller continued, We are hoping that the community will recognize this as an opportunity for some of our students as their only one within their lifetime, that some have never been to Billings nor flown on a plane, that we live in a much broader world and that we can still dream of More...We have until March 15th, 2024 to make our financial obligations, the students will be trying to earn towards defraying their costs and hope that the community can recognize the value in this opportunity.
