Basin City Arts Center seeks performers for Entertainment in the Park
The Basin City Arts Center is the new organizer of the Basin Chamber’s Entertainment in the Park event.
The center is currently looking for a variety of musical, theatrical, poetry and dance performers.
Entertainment in the Park starts on June 20 and runs through July 25, excepting July 4. It is held in Washington Park in Basin and starts at 7 p.m.
Additional volunteers and helpers are welcome, especially Thursday evenings to set up chairs and the sound system.

Sign up for BHC 4-H by May 1
The May 1 deadline to join Big Horn County 4-H is rapidly approaching.  4H empowers young people with skills to lead for a lifetime. It’s a research-based experience that includes a mentor, a hands-on project, and a meaningful leadership opportunity.
In addition, it gives you the opportunity to travel throughout Wyoming, the United States and even internationally and offer competitions and events to meet a variety of interests and skill levels.

Youth ages 5-7 can enroll as a Cloverbud. Regular membership is for youth 8-18 years of age by Jan. 1.
 

UW officials lead horticulture class
Avid gardeners gathered at the University of Wyoming Big Horn County Horticulture Expo April 9 at the Big Horn County fairgrounds in Basin.
UW Extension State Horticulturist Donna Hoffman and UW Ag and Natural Resource Educator Hudson Hill led an educational workshop that taught participants the importance of soil composition, soil temperature and which plants pollinate well with each other.  
Hoffman potted several arrangements that showcased the ease of growing your own herbs to planting varieties of vegetables in one pot.
The University of Wyoming Big Horn County Extension Office, located at 208 S. Fifth St. in Basin, has handouts with information about growing herbs, companion plants and vegetables in Wyoming.
