Learn more about the dino museum in first of five talks in BHBDGM summer lecture series

The first of five talks in the Big Horn Basin Dinosaur and Geoscience Museum’s summer lecture series will focus on the vision to open a 3,000 square foot museum on the east side of the current Greybull library and museum building.
Dr. Erik Kvale and Nolan O’Neill, who serve on the BHBDGM’s board of directors, and Greybull Town Administrator Carrie Hunt will provide an update on the project Monday, April 29 at 6 p.m. in the meeting room at the library. They will address the questions: Why do we want it? What will it look like? What is it going to contain?
Here’s the schedule for the rest of the summer. All talks will be at the same time and location.
Additional talks may be planned for August and September.
Monday, May 20: Bob and Tina King, Yellowstone National Park rangers, will present, “Jaw Dropping Tales from Yellowstone.”
Thursday, June 13: Dr. Andrew A Farke, director of the Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology, will present, “Sharks, Salamanders, Tyrannosaurs and Turtles: Strong Neighbors in the Mesaverde Formation of Cretaceous Wyoming.”
Thursday, June 20: Dr. Aaron Wood, director of the Iowa State University Geology Field Station, will share a presentation on “Transforming Students into Geologists into the Bighorn Basin.”
Thursday, July 18: Dr. Michael Brett-Surman, museum specialist for dinosaurs, fossil reptiles and amphibians for the NMNH Smithsonian Institution (retired),
will present, “Dinosaurs for Parents, Teachers and Other Living Fossils.”
