• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

December 2 — Juanita Montanez, Lovell, booked for a misdemeanor charge.

Officer responded to a call on C Street regarding a request to check for carbon monoixide due to an alarm going off, caller would like the Fire Department to investigate.

Basin Police assisted the Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC) for a tresspassor/possible intoxicated person.

A VIN inspection was done at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

December 3 — Suspicious circumstances at the Basin Post Office.

Occurred on South Fourth Street possible Carbon monoixide poisoning.

December 4 — Three VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

Officer assisted another agency at the BHCSO.

Officer initiated activity up at the First Baptist Church.

Officer assisted the general public at the BHCSO.

Extra patrol was done at the Mount View Cemetery.

Exra patrol was done at the WRC.

Building check was done at the school.

December 5 — Traffic hazard occurred because of an alley closure on West G. Street.

Business check was done on South Fourth Street.

December 6 — Traffic hazard occurred on North Fourth Street.

Harrasment occurred outside of Big Horn County on Murphy Street.

Two VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

Officer assisted another agency with a traffic stop on North Fourth Street.

A building check was done at the School.

Officer attempted to locate a stolen vehicle out of Powell.

December 7 — Business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.  

December 8 — Exra patrol was done the Basin Town Hall building.

Basin Police did a welfare check on South Fifth Street.

Extra patrol was done at WRC.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

A building check was done at the Basin School.

Dec. 2 — 11:02 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

12:54 p.m.: Fraud was reported in Basin.

2:06 p.m.: Deputies participated in community relations in Basin.

2:55 p.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Basin.

7:37 p.m.: Deputies responded to reports of a potentially disabled vehicle in Basin.

8:16 p.m.: A wildland fire was reported northeast of Basin.

8:47 p.m.: An extra patrol occurred in Greybull near the airport.

10:30 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

Dec. 3 — 11:39 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

12:15 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

2:26 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

4:18 p.m.: A scam was reported in Basin.

5:11 p.m.: Suspicious mail was reported in Basin.

Dec. 4 — 8:42 a.m.: Deputies responded to a tractor trailer stuck on Highway 14 in Shell.

11:55 a.m.: Sheep were reportedly loose on the highway in Greybull.

3:57 p.m.: A black cow was reportedly loose on the highway in Manderson.

4:31 p.m.: Deputies were advised of an ongoing attempt to locate.

4:46 p.m.: A 9-1-1 hangup was received in Basin.

7:23 p.m.: A dead deer was reported on the highway in Greybull.

Dec. 5 — 6:59 a.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Shell.

8:42 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A citation was issued.

11:37 a.m.: An abandoned vehicle was reported in Basin.

4:10 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Hyattville.

4:53 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Hyattville. A warning was issued.

5:12 p.m.: An extra patrol occurred in Hyattville.

5:28 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Greybull.

6:05 p.m.: Deputies responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in Greybull.

6:27 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

9:49 p.m.: An open 9-1-1 call was received in Shell.

10:34 p.m.: Deputies performed a business check in Greybull.

Dec. 6 — 12:44 a.m.: A traffic hazard was reported in Basin.

1:57 a.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

1:58 a.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

11:35 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Shell.

5:13 p.m.: An abandoned 9-1-1 call was received in Basin.

5:36 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

8:42 p.m.: Deputies performed a business check in Burlington.

9:48 p.m.: Deputies attempted to locate a vehicle stolen from Powell.

Dec. 7 — 12:59 a.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Manderson.

1:23 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

11:18 a.m.: A statewide BOLO was cancelled.

11:39 a.m.: Deputies responded to a civil matter in Basin.

11:45 a.m.: Deputies performed a business check in Basin.

3:17 p.m.: Deputies participated in community relations in Burlington.

7:03 p.m.: Deputies performed a business check in Greybull.

8:29 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Manderson.

9:11 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A citation was issued.

9:49 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Basin.

Dec. 8 — 10:53 a.m.: A rapid SOS ping was received in Manderson.

11:27 a.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Basin.

5:11 p.m.: An accident involving a vehicle and an antelope occurred in Greybull. Property damage was reported.

5:16 p.m.: Deputies conducted a welfare check in Basin.

6:08 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull.

7:21 p.m.: Deputies performed a business check in Greybull.

7:23 p.m.: Deputies responded to reports of a possible home intruder in Greybull.

7:24 p.m.: A custody dispute was reported to deputies in Basin.
