Heaven Bound to perform Saturday at BCAC

Heaven Bound, a group of five local country gospel musicians, will be in concert at the Basin City Arts Center Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.  The concert is free and open to the public with donations to the BCAC appreciated.

The group consists of Ashley Patrick doing vocals and bass; Alesha Dern on mandolin, guitar, and vocals;  Doris Todd contributing vocal harmonies;  Dave Todd on guitar and vocals; and Carole Blakeman, the band leader, on accordion and vocals.

The band does country gospel, old country and bluegrass music.

Heaven Bound has been together about 16 years.

“At one time we had nine members, but we are settled in at five members now,” said Dave Todd. “The past year or so we have cut back on doing concerts due to jobs, and other of life’s things that seem to get in the way.

We are grateful to have been asked to play for BCAC this year, and are looking forward to doing an hour concert ... and we must not forget our sound buy, Sean Patrick.”

Carole says, “We have tons of fun with our music and practices, and enjoy bringing ‘musical happiness’ to others.  We share a great love of country gospel music within the band.  There is lots of variety with duets, trios, various small groups and solos within the band group.  Some songs are instrumental while others are vocals.”
