Letter to the Editor: Names of those now serving in warzones sought
Dear Editor:
This letter is long overdue to all the people that have supported us since 2006. Ann and I would like to thank everyone for allowing us the privilege to be able to mail packages to our military men and women that have been deployed to areas where they are in harm’s way. We have mailed packages once a month to each name we have received, starting in 2006 – 2021. We then had two years off because we didn’t have names or addresses. In 2025, we started up again with the deployment of 2-300th, 115th, and 265th.
Now we are asking anyone in the Big Horn Basin that has military men and women on deployment to war zones to please get us their addresses and we will ramp up mailings to them. These areas we know of are Iran, Iraq, Israel, Turkey, and those warring nations, then Ukraine, and Africa. We mail to all military men and women, not just the National Guard units, but we have to rely on moms, dads, brothers, sisters, wives, husbands, grandparents, etc., to get us their addresses. No address is ever given out to anyone else. Troop support has stood on confidentiality all these years and we are not going to stop now.
Now we are relying on you from the Big Horn Basin — Clark, Powell, Lovell, Frannie, Deaver, Cowley, Byron, Greybull, Basin, Emblem, Otto, Hyattsville, Meeteetse — for names and addresses so troop support can send them goodies. We are ready to load and ship. If you have an address for us, you can text Bonny at 307-272-5172; email Bonnyrouse@msn.com, or drop off at my house at 1054 Road 9, Powell. Put it under the frogs on the window sill by the front door. Or to Ann’s e-mail at Ann.Ruward@hrblock.com; you may also drop off at the H&R Block offices in Powell, Cody, or Greybull.
Thank you again to all that have and still do support us so we can make sure each man and woman servicing can get a package from home showing them we care and support them for putting their lives on the line.
Bonny Rouse
