Letter to the Editor: Immigration, war and No Kings silliness

Dear Editor:

In reading the letters to the editor this week, I wonder if the illegal immigrants that Tom Laidlaw writes about are following the Golden Rule. If they were in our shoes, would they want us to invade their country and take advantage like they do us at this time?

In regard to USAID, from the news reports I read about and heard on broadcast news, most of the money was being wasted because of fraud and the abuse of our generosity.

As far as the war in Iran, this administration came to the conclusion that after 47 years of Iranian abuse, it was time to try and finally end it. I don’t believe that there are any Conservatives or Liberals that want any lives to be lost. The same goes for the cost of the war, nobody likes it but there is a cost to try and make the world a safer place.

As for our election system, it has not changed from what it has been. What has changed is the way the Democrats are trying to get elected. They have RINO candidates running as Republicans in hopes that enough people will not check the candidate out before voting for them.

They keep bringing up the Freedom Caucus trying to make us believe it amounts to something it is not. Our political system has many different caucuses, some of them we support, some we do not. That goes for both political parties.

The No Kings silliness that is going on is just that, silly. A president can only serve eight years. The ones that are acting like kings are the House and Senate. We have congressmen and senators that have been serving so long they have to be brought into the chamber in wheelchairs and walkers. They are the ones that think they are kings. I don’t have the exact years of service on them, but some have served 40 or 50 years. That is way too long. They should drop out and let some fresh ideas get kicked around.

Back to illegal, and legal immigrants for that matter, when they protest our laws and our government and they carry the flag of their country around, they evidently don’t like our ways that much, so they should be arrested and removed to the country of the flag they are displaying. I think as Americans, we should only display the American flag. If we are not proud to be Americans, we can leave by choice or force.
