Riverside High School Athletic Honors awarded May 19th

Riverside athletes were recognized at a year-end athletic banquet on May 19th. The dedication of the coaches and athletes was apparent, and the comradery, discipline, and grit of the athletes was evident by how their coaches spoke of them.

It was an “all-sports” banquet, so there was everything from football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, and track, as well as swimming and golf. Coaches had many encouraging words, stories, and words of wisdom for the athletes. They truly enjoyed their jobs.

•Football MVP was a tie between Corbyn Godfrey and Gavin Cervantes, most inspirational was Paul Stone.

•Volleyball MVP was Brooklynn Paxton, most improved was Hannah Suiter, and most inspirational was Johnna Clifford.

•Girls Basketball MVP was Brooklynn Paxton, most improved was Annabelle Brown, and most inspirational was Johnna Clifford.

•Boys Basketball MVP was Brendan Powell, most improved was Xander Dannar, and most inspirational was Elias Jensen.

•Girls track MVP was Varissa Olsen, most improved was Hadley Hopkin, and most inspirational was Hannah Suiter.

•Boys track MVP was Paul Stone, most improved was Ariel Cordova, and most inspirational was Elias Jensen.

Senior Athletes Medallion awards:

•Gold Medallions: (10 or more career letters) Varissa Olsen, Johnna Clifford.

•Silver Medallions: (8-9 career letters) Brooklynn Paxton, Paul Stone, Camden Schriner.

•Bronze Medallions: (6-7 career letters) Loomis Alexander, Nick Olmstead.

•Sportsmanship award: Brendan Powell.

•Male athlete of the year: Zack Kuntz.

•Female athlete of the year: Brooklynn Paxton.
