Search and Rescue in the running for Land Rover

Big Horn County Search and Rescue has been named one of five nationwide finalists in the 2026 Land Rover Defender Service Awards, sponsored by Chase, with the chance to win a Land Rover Defender 130 and a $30,000 grant to support the organization.

Morgan Kleiderlein-Dufort, a volunteer for Big Horn County SAR, is working to give the local team a headstart in the competition; while public voting does not begin until July 29, supporters are asked to sign up for text and email updates now, at https://forms.gle/qtRR1C45CwQZmoGGA. This will alert participants exactly when the voting link from Land Rover becomes available. Voting will remain open through Aug. 14.

“We’re competing with organizations from much larger communities, so reaching supporters quickly will be critical,” Kleiderlein-Dufort said.

To help, Big Horn County SAR suggests voting every day from July 29 through Aug. 14, or becoming a recruiter, getting five new people to vote a day.
