Martha V. Parsons Miner
December 3, 1950 - April 10, 2026
Martha was born December 3, 1952, to Harvey and Mildred Parsons in San Bernardino, California. Martha only had the initial V for a middle name. Martha lived a large part of her life in San Bernardino. She graduated high school there in 1970. She married Tom Miner on June 20, 1970. Tom and Martha raised three children: Susan (Erik) Sales of Basin, Wyoming, Tommy (Pattie) Miner of Louisville, Kentucky, and Tammy Burton of Powell, Wyoming.
In 1998 Tom and Martha move to Basin, Wyoming. Martha loved being a grandma and great grandma. Troy was her first and only great grandchild and boy were they tight! Martha immediately got involved with Greybull Alliance Church. She was always a faithful helper in all the church activities. She opened her home to the Ladies’ Bible Study for years. In California Martha only had family, but in Wyoming she made many close friends. One special friend was Andi Reid, who sadly has already passed away. They did many fun activities together, like a walking group.
Martha really wanted to be a teacher and went to college with that intent. She had to drop out several times to care for family members. That was Martha, always loving and thoughtful. Tom died on May 29, 1999. It seemed like Martha didn’t miss a beat, always thinking of others. She finally did finish college. Martha never held a teaching position but did substitute. If you put kids in her care, she would be teaching in her kind gentle way. Susan’s sister-in-law, Stephanie, and Martha had an incredible bond and spent many hours doing arts and crafts and reading.
Martha kept an orderly home and invited people over for dinner and other things. Daughter Susan and family moved to the Basin-Greybull area in 2011. This was very nice for Martha. Bob, a fellow veteran of Tom’s, who had PTSD, was lovingly helped, and taken in by Martha and her family. Martha was a true prayer warrior. She kept paper and pen by her chair, so she was ready to take down prayer requests. Martha was an avid reader, and any genre made her happy. Her library of books, music and movies outgrew her home. In her later years Martha first lived in a nursing home in Butte, Montana, then in the Lovell Nursing home in Lovell, Wyoming.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom Miner, brother Thorn Parsons, and family friend Bob Clements.
Martha is survived by her brothers George and Milo Parsons, her children and grandchildren, Susan (Erik) Sales, Joshua (Maori) Sales, Jennifer Sales, Jacob Sales, and Troy Sales. Tommy (Pattie) Miner, Morgan (Kaden) Cox, and TJ Miner, Tammy Burton, Benjamin Burton, Destiny Burton, and Stephanie Sales.
A memorial service for Martha will take place Saturday, July 25th at 11 am at the Greybull Alliance Church, 831 N. 6th St. Greybull, WY. A meal will be served after the service.
